How was the audio in the RWD compared to the premium audio system in the AWD? Im assuming the RWD did not come with the 2x 8" rear subwoofers and will have the same setup as the dual motor they just released.

I orginally ordered the Premium AWD but once they released the dual motor, i changed my order over. I really enjoyed the premium audio when i test drove the premium AWD and is the 2nd biggest factor besides the air suspension.

I am no audiophile. When I originally demo drive RWD and AWD, it was still great in my ears. I don't listen to music with boosted up bass anymore, like more balanced. The AWD will be punchier. The RWD was great to me.

Also to mention the adaptive coil suspension. Coil suspension with 18s felt very smooth on chill mode. Air suspension I'll say is very slightly more cushioned. To me the coil felt more sporty, it was more responsive, especially can feel during cornering. Side to side transition was instant. My AWD feels a little more sluggish. That might be due to the 500lbs less overall weight on the RWD. 300lbs lighter on front axle than AWD.

The RWD was actually very cool, wished it did well. With aftermarket lowering springs, I could see people turn it into a Cybertruck drift machine. I peeled out a lot of times while turning and was very controllable slides.

maybe the left bed wall with the 120V and 240V plugs and the tonneau cover.
It feels like it is the RWD model with just some parts swapped and front motor.

The only thing I feel that I am missing is the plug in the bed.

I thought I would have gotten the soft tonneau cover, which would have worked out great, b/c I really wanted the range.

it is interesting to note that the AWD base model has the same range as the AWD premium model... even though it has the more efficient 18" wheels, no air compressor / air suspension, etc.

The RWD model + soft tonneau is suppose to achieve 362 miles.

Tesla probably give you a nice trade in for the RWD. This is good time to upgrade to the dual motor AWD. I wish they had announced this earlier.

I think they made the dual motor AWD to sell off remaining RWD parts inventory, but also give RWD opportunity for upgrade with minimal trade-in loss for abandoning RWD customers.

Hi All!

I just took delivery of my Long Range RWD today!

Order placed in July after multiple demo drives. I was very impressed with the driving dynamics and FSD.

I chose the RWD for the longest range and can afford. I want to keep it for a long time and the simplicity should help make the maintenance and repair costs low.

Mine has the standard 18" wheels. I really like the beefy balloon tires on it. I didn't think Tesla would actually produce them, since all the demo RWD that were early made came with Cyberwheels.

I love it!

Update! Added interior photos:

18 inch standard wheels: They are steelies (The outer hexagonal is part of the wheel with the center is a cover).

Pictures of coil suspension:

Rear vent console. It is missing the display, however improves in space to place objects that take up whole width of interior. It also more leg room for center passenger. The display protrudes out past the seats.

Simpler bed. I added the L-tracks.

Efficiency log:

11-4-2025: 310Wh/mi

First 1000 miles! Florida local and 10% highway driving. No tonneau, Tesla discontinued it . Temperature in the 80s to recent 60s-70s. I like driving with windows open. 25% FSD.

Efficiency after nearly 7000 miles! Before trading in for AWD:

Primarily driving with FSD:

12 months free supercharging was nice!

2-10-2026 - Trade in and delivery of AWD. My RWD was great and will be missed.

Tesla Shop has the OEM L-tracks for $250.

They will also sell you stuff that you can attach to the L-track, like the bed divider, the MOLLE panels, the hooks, the cleat, and of course the Foundation Series bottle opener.

Don't think anyone has actually seen the bed of an AWD Standard, so we don't know for sure. But it seems very likely.

So far, every Cybertruck bed ever made either has L-tracks, or (in the case of the RWD) has slots that can be filled with OEM L-tracks for $250.

There is no obvious incentive for Tesla to redesign the bed, remove the L-Track slots, and eliminate the option of an extra $250 sale.

The bed side walls are different base AWD and the RWD. The base AWD will come with 120V and 240V plugs.
I was looking into how to “upgrade” my bed lights and per the service manual and parts, looks more complicated.
I got those L-tracks and super easy to install

The Tesla store has changed their description of the L-Tracks. It now says:

Cybertruck L-Tracks fit in the truck bed of Cybertruck vehicles ... Note: Cybertruck L-Tracks are included with Cybertruck Cyberbeast and 2023-2024 Cybertruck All-Wheel Drive vehicles.

The implication is that all Cybertrucks can use the L-Tracks, but some CTs already have them.

So I would say that yes, it is confirmed that the AWD Standard will have L-Track slots. Seriously, Tesla would never deprive any Cybertruck owners of the opportunity to drop $1000+ for the L-Tracks, a bed divider or two, a couple MOLLE panels, some hooks and cleats, and a bottle opener. They care about their customers.

It was 366 miles with roll up cover. highest range was the reason I bought it as well. From my normal commute, I saw efficiency <300Wh/mi. Averaging 270-280Wh/mi and as low as 220Wh/mi some instance.

On my AWD, so far have not seen below 300Wh/mi. Not sure if it needs breaking in. Although, I am also driving faster now since been more used to driving a Cybertruck.

Was the taillight “bar” on your former RWD the same as what is coming w/ the new basic AWD model? Or was the RWD taillight the same look as the Premium AWD + Beast? Those two small square taillights look kinda silly without the bar….

my light have those little reds at the end...no light bar in the middle except for the thin break light.

I wished I could swap a full light bar from an premium AWD truck (ie by the parts) and have tesla service center install it for me.

I placed an order for the base awd truck - will see what happens, now that FSD transfer is gone I don't want to lose my FSD that I purchased with the truck... that was quite surprise when tesla changed the rules
