Commercial Vehicle Credit does not go through the portal. What is your exact situation?Has anyone had success getting Tesla to file their vehicle on the ECO portal? I cannot get anyone at the store to help me. All of the phone numbers direct me back to the store.
I purchased an AWD Cybertruck in November of 2024. I farm and I am a sole proprietor. This truck is deprecated on my schedule F. From my research, this qualifies me for the Commercial EV tax credit. I am asking Tesla to report my vin with my SSN so I can qualify. At the time of purchase, this filing had to be done within 3 days of purchase. I understand now the IRS has lifted that 3 day requirement and can help my situation.Commercial Vehicle Credit does not go through the portal. What is your exact situation?
The portal submission is only for the New and Previously Owned Credits.I purchased an AWD Cybertruck in November of 2024. I farm and I am a sole proprietor. This truck is deprecated on my schedule F. I will send this information to my accountant and see what he says. I’m not sure what forms he sent earlier, but the IRS kept rejecting me because the VIN was not registered with my SSN. Thanks for the info. The portal submission is only for the New and Previously Owned Credits.
45W Commercial only requires the manufacturer to certify the vehicle in a separate filing (this also happens for vehicles to get them in the portal).
There is no seller's report for Commercial credit.
You only need to fill out Part I and V of the Form 8936 and its schedule A along with the appropriate higher level form (depends on type of structure).
The important bit is question 5 should be answered NO and question 7 should be answered YES on schedule A form 8936, this has been a stumbling block for many, or atleast that's the latest theory. The portal submission is only for the New and Previously Owned Credits.

Well, unless the IRS sends me a letter in the future saying there is a problem, my final tax payment includes a reduction due to the credit. Same thing as a refund.Do we have anyone that has already received their money/deduction finalized?
So yours is all finalized, you paid the reduced amount and there is nothing further to be done? I suppose that is comforting then... i overpaid my taxes by way too much so I'm waiting on a refundWell, unless the IRS sends me a letter in the future saying there is a problem, my final tax payment includes a reduction due to the credit. Q5 is for 30D (new)
Q6 is for 25E (previously owned)
Q7 is for 45W (commercial)
I just got a message back from my accountant and the IRS rejected the form you mentioned above because the VIN didn’t match up with the IRS database. The portal submission is only for the New and Previously Owned Credits.

Tell him to send you the scheudle A of form 8936 and exactly how he answered the questions, almost certainly it's wrong, because the question has to be answered in a way that isn't obvious at all!I just got a message back from my accountant and the IRS rejected the form you mentioned above because the VIN didn’t match up with the IRS database.
The instructions specifically say the dealer must report the VIN to the IRS.
