There's a strange assumption that help would be always be coming.

In all of the situations I have listed, help is overwhelmed by demand or conditions to arrive. (And a spare tire wouldn't have helped because you also wouldn't be able to go anywhere anyhow.)

Yup, you should not assume help will come even if you contacted them.

Could be innocent mistake that they thought you were at a different location or even the rescuers had accident en-route to you.

However if you are waiting for some U.S. city or state police you better hope they perceive you as being important enough for them to bother. There are documented cases of police purposely not responding even when the police where not on strike. Some were real cases of women being raped. The courts have ruled that police have no obligation to respond. Just like the court has ruled that Fox "News" is not liable for lying because court says "Fox News" is not news but is entertainment. Unfortunately a lot of listeners/viewer in the U.S. don't care.

So a 120v charger can stop rape and the garbage from Faux News. That's pretty impressive. Shame on Tesla keeping us from that technology. Any word on how we stop the tripe from the other junk news sources like CNN?

None of those super chargers were installed at the time of delivery on 9/20…but happy to see them popping up since our purchase. With solar I charge 100% at home unless we’re on a road trip.
We too charge off of Solar panels at home at least 50% of the time recently. Heading to Ramona today to enjoy the 87 degree weather to check on my RV repair progress. I drive thru Ramona at least once a month on my way down to Shelter Valley to RV camp and target shoot.

I just think it's in poor taste to recently raise prices 4-6 thousand dollars on these vehicles...then nickel and dime customers for $200. Then cry inflation but also report 30%+ profit margins.

Taste doesn't factor into pricing decisions, and if you don't like it, but something else.

I do agree that is seems wrong to raise prices and take stuff away at the same time when making huge profits. I don't see an issue with making optional accessories optional as long as its updated in the order page and only for new orders.

Pricing is a completely different issue, however Tesla is projecting prices 3-9 months out. Given the overall market and inflation predictions I don't think its unreasonable to increase prices now for cars that are expected to be delivered in 6 months or more from now. Also I think its reasonable to raise prices to curb demand, no one wants to wait over a year for a car. The longer they wait the more expectations can inflate and end up unhappy with the product. Cybertruck is already likely experiencing that where no matter what they put out many will simply have pictured this perfect truck that the real thing won't be able to live up to.

I do not believe Tesla will give discounts if market turns and inflation drops and pricing of materials goes down, but I think its better to raise prices now, then force people with reservations to absorb price increases near delivery, after waiting 6 month to a year for the car.

I believe that is why they removed Cybertruck pricing because they simply don't know where things will be potentially 2-3 years out. Anyone who orders a cybertruck today is looking at "potentially" a 5+ year time to delivery (it depends on production rate and conversion rate from reservations to orders). That is a long time to predict where the cost of manufacturing will be.

Based on your stance with the cable, where is your stance on a spare tire?

When I was 8 or 9, I invented an electric generator using magnets as it’s raw source. I thought I would change the world, then I found the concept was already invented, and the world did not change. Crestfallen, I will be rebuilding my prototype as my emergency energy source to recharge vehicle. (This was before the internet)

I most likely will buy charge cables, not a fan of paying anything extra. I would also get a spare but most likely leave in garage.

It's official... I'm crazy. I don't even own a Tesla and I have a 14-50V converter plug for no reason other than me being me.

I've already got my wall charging plan mapped out and will call my electrician the day they make a hard announcement for the CT release date. That way I'm 100% certain where the vehicle's charging port will be and if they're making a more powerful wall charger option. Then a little while after that, before my CT arrives, I'm gutting my garage and redoing the storage setup and layout.

You don't bring the baby home then set up the crib.

Not to sound like a Tesla apologist buy if you price any BMW, Porsche, or Mercedes they come with virtually nothing. Every option and extra gets tacked on to the point where a moderately spec'd $60k model jumps by 25% in price once you add on the dumb stuff they don't include.

You're essentially adding 2% to the price of your car to have a gas station in your house plus a mobile solution. Every day you come home and plug it in and it's full in the morning. C'mon, seems like a value any way you slice it. Tesla makes +1M cars a year so getting a free mobile connector wasn't going to stay free forever.
?A car is not like a baby. It can wait until I actually bring it home before setting up the charging cable.

So Tesla moved back the date and lowered the price of both the mobile charging kit and the wall connector. To $200 and $400 respectively. Considering Ford charges $800 for their wall connector, and replacement chargers for the Ford are around $285. So this doesn’t really pass the greedy corporate bastards test.

There are several Tesla owners in my neighborhood. Of those that park outside, none have installed an external Wall Connector, but instead have a cable running under the garage door to the Mobile Connector.

I'd say that many owners settled on using the Mobile Connector as their permanent home-charging solution, and do not carry it with them. The Wall Connector is a sturdier and more capable solution to home charging, and frees up the MC to be mobile.
