Making the final payment

This is a poll about making the final payment. I keep getting messages about completing the final payment task, but I am hesitant to pay before delivery. I have linked my checking account in the Plaid app, so Tesla can verify funds, but I would like to wait until delivery to make the payment. Has anyone paid via Plaid at delivery? Or is the preference to get a cashier's check at the bank? Plaid seems like less of a hassle, but I am curious if it works just as well as a check when you come to pick up the truck

I'd rather get a cashiers check and pay at delivery after I've inspected the vehicle, but seeing as how I'm in Michigan with archaic dealership laws, I needed to pay before they could even ship the vehicle into the state.

Im going to try Plaid as well. With all the new tech in the cybertruck, why not try instant payment of thousands of dollars with guaranteed delivery?

But did you sign in and then you have the option to press pay button later? I was afraid to even sign in, thinking they will have payment already. So it has a confirmation after signing in?

You can submit the Plaid payment after you see your truck during your delivery appointment. I would never pay ahead of time

Got VIN 5/1. Couldn't get plaid to work with my bank so I was going to do a wire transfer. But I'm not doing it until the day before delivery, and I still don't have delivery date. Truck was finished 4/23 but still no shipping carrier. How stupid is it for Tesla to have undelivered vehicles siting in Austin, when they could convert inventory to revenue???

No need to pre-pay. That's just the app going through its steps. You will not lose your order. Either Plaid or casher's check works at delivery. You will absolutely get to inspect your truck before you have to pay.

I signed in to link my checking account. I got confirmation emails from my bank and from Tesla that my account is now linked. There is a blue Pay button, but I have not pressed it.

I thought that linking would be sufficient for Tesla to confirm the funds, but I still got a text reminder today to complete the payment task. I responded that I linked my checking account and I plan to pay at delivery. Just want to make sure this would work just as seamless as handing them a cashier's check, but save me a trip to the bank.

When did Tesla transfer the funds? Was it instantaneous, or did they wait to deliver the truck before initiating the transfer?

That is my plan. Just wanted to make sure it will work. I would not want to be sitting there for hours waiting for the funds to clear if I can be driving my Cybertruck.

I did it in October. I checked out my X, sent payment via Plaid, a few minutes later they verified it and I left.

I got my VIN on 5/9 (invited/ordered 1/22). Then got a text that the truck arrives late this week/early next week. Delivery scheduled for 5/24, which was the closest delivery appointment available to me.

When did Tesla transfer the funds? Was it instantaneous, or did they wait to deliver the truck before initiating the transfer?

I did fund transfer via app (Plaid) so it checked available funds in the linked account to complete.

Delivery center rep told me to the minute, 4/23 6:50am. So they must have visibility.

When I bought my MYP this year,I wired my funds near the day of pick-up….is the ability to wire funds no longer an option?

I am also in Michigan and the Ann Arbor dealership stated no problem with a cashiers check at delivery.
