No, I'm pretty sure it's still there, I think we're just seeing the printing cover picking up dust. That does bring up the point that maybe a blanking plate to go into the socket would be a good idea for those in dusty or offroad adventures. Playa dust gets in everywhere and loves to cake up around the charge/fuel ports.
