I'm yepping everything on this page. For all the crap I give Ford, they do get it. Maybe they can't and/or won't move faster but they engineer, produce, and then are both willing to lean into and scrap their ideas. Sure sometimes they don't know when to quit (Thunderbird), but they made a four-banger Mustang, they went aluminum on trucks, they made the Pinto, Probe, and Maverick. They even went full New Coke with the Ford Bronco 2. In the end, they bailed on cars, except of course the Mustangs. There are probably some Ford engineers who already want to redo some parts of the Mach-e. They went AI with VW, partnered with SK.

Like it has been pointed out, they are way behind. Luckily for them, they have some street cred to lean on until the improvements make it into the next generation.

That's definitely something they will need to resolve before the Lightning starts being delivered. anyone who buys a work truck and loses a third of their range before adding weight to the bed or attaching a trailer will be looking to return pretty fast.
Yeah, even if a Lightning loses only half and Cybertruck loses 2/3rds, the tri-motor will still go further.

I've been saying this for a long time, Tesla has a huge head start on other companies. Tesla has been doing this for over a decade now, they've failed more times than other companies have tried.
What is this "Tesla has been doing this for over a decade now, they've failed more times than other companies have tried"???? What does that mean?

It means exactly what it sounds like. Tesla has been making cars for over a decade, they've worked through numerous battery issues, they've been experimenting with charging since before their first supercharger. You can find numerous patents that Tesla has filed over the years that never actually became anything. Tesla didn't even start out thinking about charging a vehicle in 15 minutes, they were trying to demonstrate how they would have stations that you drive up to, park over basically a maintenance pit and your battery would be replaced quickly with a full charge battery.

Tesla has never stopped improving their technology since the beginning. Other companies are lucky that Tesla did all that work, the battery packs between different makes aren't very different at all, the charging infrastructure is exactly like Tesla has. Tesla still has the better batteries and better charging stations but that's not all they have, they have more experience in doing this on a large scale than any other company.
