The Silverado has more visible damage but the Cybertruck will probably cost a lot more to repair.

Start at the 50 second mark unless you enjoy watching 110 traffic.

Unfortunately no alert from the collision avoidance, neither audible nor emergency breaking. Maybe my speed was too low?

What I don’t get is why the truck brake checked you. There was no one in front of it. As soon as it saw you trying to cross over it slammed in the brakes for no reason or induced to do so by another vehicle. This one could’ve been avoided by both drivers but most importantly the rare braking by the truck in front of you.

There was a car in front of the truck that tried to change lanes to the right and didn't make it. Back half of the car was still in the middle lane causing the truck to slam on their brakes.

For god sakes, the timing for everything to happen as it did at the specific moment. ?

Brake checked you, should have spoke your mind. There was no need for him to hit his brakes..

It appears another vehicle on the right side cut the truck off that caused the braking. Just bad timing for everyone.

did you watch the video?

0:53 car in front of silverado started change to right lane, 0:58, slams brakes infront of silverado half way through changing lanes. you can see through the silverado's windshield, it is sitting in both lanes.

He wasn’t cut off, that car was merging right but had to stop halfway due to traffic.
Truck driver played it safe and stopped instead of trying to squeeze by the car.
OP here should have been watching the road, it’s ridiculous to blame anything but the driver at this point, software is no excuse as the driver is still required to take action if necessary.

Glad to be part of the data set ?
That truck in front of you had plenty of room to drive by the car in front of him that just changed lanes. His abrupt stop was unnecessary. I don’t feel you’re 100% at fault.

This lack of a warning might have been a combo of the low speed plus changing lanes/adding torque to the wheel.

I have had the collision warning a few times like when a vehicle i am following is turning and i don't slow, as i anticipate the vehicle clearing the path. So the algo sort of thinks i am not paying attention. Other times when i am maneuvering in traffic and there is a quick slowdown, no warning.

If FSD was active in this case, this incident would not have happened, nor would it would have made such a move in traffic (sorry OP :D).

It would have seemed the safer path would have been to maintain the lane of travel for the Cybertruck until/unless it was clear to move to the right. It wasn't clear on the right but the Cybertruck opted to change lanes anyway and did so without adequate margin.

Yes, I drive in crazy traffic a lot (into/out of NYC with our urban hellscape of pothole-strewn roads to boot). Just seems to be one where the Cybertruck didn't demonstrate ample caution and an accident that was truly accidental.

PS one thing I miss about my 2021 Model S is ultrasonic sensors. May or may not have beeped in this instance but they do pick up things in close proximity fairly well. Tesla's insistence on removing ultrasonic sensors is more dumb than their removal of the rain sensor. What did they save? $200? On a $100+K vehicle?

I don't think the collision detection would have worked in the situation where you were crossing the line intensionally, at that speed, the system probably thought you knew what you were doing. Just an odd situation for it to detect.
I did not see if you were using fsd, nevertheless you had almost 2 seconds to hit the brake. ???
