Yes indeed! It is my turn to have a story so here I am....

Last night was a normal routine of park and charge the truck overnight. Woke up this morning, went out to unplug and drive and noticed it threw an error: "HVBATT_a259 Unable to charge - Maximum charge level reached. Reduced maximum charge level - Schedule service"

Tesla Cybertruck My Turn: HVBATT_a258 - Unable To Charge IMG_2510

I was charged to 79%, quickly researched the error and uh oh..this is a big one! Put in an SC request and suggested this may be more serious and asked if they could get me in earlier than the proposed 10/6 date. They asked if I would try to charge at an Super Charger...no problem. No go! It won't charge at all so I let them know I was on my way.....

SC took me right in, quickly mentioned how this was their first CT issue of this magnitude and let me know they cannot work on high voltage there. So the pack will be dropped and sent to (I assume Austin) the factory. A new pack will be shipped to them and they will install it. Likely a 2wk process so they offered me a CT (Non-Beast), Model S, or a Model X.

I walked the options with the rep, the X was an older model so nah! The Model S isn't a refresh but it's a 2022 with Yoke steering wheel.

Fine! Tesla took care of me and I have transportation but let me begin my rant:

Holy shit the Model S is dirty...then I forgot how low they are (quickly remembered tricks from my Plaid, keep it high to get in/out then drop it down. The yoke and steering is god awful and it feels like I am driving a piece of shit. i know it's the CT SBW, 4-wheel turning but this is not starting off well at all and will take some time getting use to.

So there it is...my turn to have a major issue, albeit a first across all my Tesla's over the years. I was due eh? Cheers!

Had to chime in here and confirm, never driven a Tesla prior to CT, but had a loaner like you of the Model S. That thing is absolutely slammed to the ground, to be honest it's a little intimidating driving close to semi trucks. Your head is literally on par to the semi truck wheel.

Anyway, at least you get a brand new battery :D

It's been years since I got into a Model S, oh lord! haha! The height trick I used in the past still works and makes it a lot better but its better than a Model 3. I would never own one of those go-karts. lol

As far as new battery after 11,793 miles, I guess that is a positive thing eh?

Last week I took mine in for a Vehicle May not restart HV error. They said a couple of days but have been pushing it every few days. My loaner is a Model Y. I wasn’t given an option. I hadn’t thought at the time how much I needed a truck. I remember now every time I think I’ll go grab a bale of hay or bag of shavings or go check the game cameras. They say it’s an inverter, so I’m hoping the latest repair date update is right. If not I’ll have to borrow or rent a truck to get some things done around the farm.

You'd think it would be simpler to transport the whole truck?

I assume this is a PCS failure? I guess they can swap those components elsewhere and re-use the pack for other repairs.

There is no way to know. I am hoping it doesn't take long, I miss the truck already! The Yoke is awful, the turn radius is awful on this Model S. It's all due to the beauty of the CT's options.

I think it's the battery itself, not sub components in the pack.

Sitting at a Super charger in the Model S and my god tinted windows work wonders! I feel naked without them.
