My 2025 AWD needing tires soon, i'm squeezing out as many miles from the stock tires. I have narrow down to two tire brands, Michelin Defender LTX Platinum vs. Hankook Ion HT ??? My priorities are longevity, efficiency, and quietness in that order. i don't care much for performance nor esthetic: 90% on FSD, Chill on manual, Standard on freeway, and Hurry on inside street. Any thought from any members are greatly appreciated.

For me, I plan on sticking to stock tires...in my case OEM AT tires. Maximize quietness and efficiency. Longevity in a tire would be nice, but I am not willing to give up quietness nor efficiency.

The Michelin Defender LTX Platinum is a premium all-season tire designed for luxury heavy-duty pickups like the Cybertruck, emphasizing longevity, aesthetics, and highway performance. The Defender LTX M/S is its predecessor in the LTX lineup, known for reliable all-around use in pickups and SUVs, but it's largely been updated to the M/S2 version (which incorporates similar improvements like Evertread 2.0 compound for better wear and grip). Based on available data, the Platinum outperforms the original M/S in treadlife, while sharing traits like quiet ride and all-season versatility. Note that the M/S2 is the current equivalent to the M/S, with enhanced features over the original—I'll highlight where comparisons involve the M/S2 for relevance.

For the Cybertruck's LT285/65R20 size, both are compatible, but the Platinum is often preferred as an upgrade for its durability under high torque and weight.

just put them on along with new Atomic rims. Ride is quieter and smoother than the OEM tires.

I am getting at least 50whi/mi better with the Hankook ion HT over LTX possibly 100wh/mi
600miles I am at 410wh vs 550
I’d say only but an LT tire if you really need it and willing to sacrifice range.

Same. I've been very impressed by the stock AT tires from Goodyear.

I think this next winter I will buy the DuraTrac RT wheel and tire set, and just swap them out since my area has very mild winders.

I got the Plats about 4 months ago, awesome tires. There are so many threads here that speak to the benefits. I reasoned that with all of these options being $500+ per tire, I wanted them to last as long as possible. I got almost 24k out of the Perrellis with never rotating them. The 70k mile warranty on the plats was what sold me. But after installation, I fell in love with the look; they have a more aggressive sidewall appearance but are minimally louder and have decreased efficiency due to the heavier weight. But the trade off for me was not having to spend $2k every 12-18 months

But now we have ANC to keep the cabin quieter. I still can't hear a difference with ANC lol

@30K my stock tires were bald! just purchased and had installed Michelin Defender LTX Platinums
( $2200 ) and the ride is noticeably quieter and smooth.

Maybe they should put the ANC speakers inside the tires 🤷‍♂️

Same here. They trade off a little bit of longevity for more safety and traction on pavement, wet or dry, but how can you put a price on that?

If you mainly stay on pavement, but want a tire that can handle heavy loads and is still relatively efficient and not prone to getting flats, the Goodyear AT Territory tires that came on the Foundation Series are really hard to beat for a versatile, practical quiet, all-round tire.
