It's the 3rd best selling EV what are you talking about?
The disappearing 2MM unit reservations and now a wait list of one week.

Meh, I purchased all 5 of my Tesla without any tax incentives, our gov is too cheap to be all inclusive, but yet, all they preach about is "inclusion" ?...

Totally Agree.

Even Elon said months ago regarding incentives - "DELETE".

(caution: Humblebrag) - I'm not eligible for any incentive anyway, and Cybertruck is the best friggin vehicle I've owned in my life. 2X M-B, 2X Porsche, 2X BMW, Ford, GM, VOLVO, Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep etc etc.

Well - the second best vehicle I've ever owned was a $200 used 80's Corolla wagon manual. I beat the living hell out of that thing and it just would not give up.

Ford isn’t going anywhere and won’t be giving up the truck crown anytime soon. They don’t need government incentives. What they need is a collaboration with Tesla using their tech.
A Ford/Tesla collaboration will not fix Ford's problem, which is basically a wrong-headed way of thinking about vehicle design and manufacturing. The products have to manufactured in an efficient manner so they are affordable. Over a century of being in a somewhat dominant position has made them forget that it's all about delivering value, and that's all about constant innovation on behalf of their future customers.

You can't turn that around with a collaboration. It takes a decade or more. It would be easier to start over, without all their corporate baggage.

It seems to me that there is a significant number of purchasers are waiting on the incentive to become official, but if ultimately it will not happen, or won't happen for long, shouldn't Elon address the main barrier to sales, that being it is still too expensive for what we get?
Anyone waiting for a $7,500 tax credit to magically appear doesn't have a clue. It's ineligible for that (and the tax credits are probably going away anyway).

Too expensive for what we get? Do you even have direct experience with an actual Cybertruck? It's far better than I thought it would be. And the more I put it through it's paces, the more it proves just how much better it actually is. It makes my F-150 feel like it's not fit for a human.

Not everyone can afford a truck this nice, this capable, this safe, and this much fun to drive, but the value is there for sure. Nothing in its price class comes close.

This is a good thing. If you can’t afford it go Kick Rocks. It’s time the Government went back to the 80’s where we had the have and have nots.

Not everyone has to have the same, work hard and get what you want. These hand outs with leases and incentives should have been gone a while back.
Spoken like someone who believe the poor are poor because they are just lazy - wow.

Best collaborations are from music people and clothing designers. Vehicle manufactures not so much. Each wants credit when it is right, and each want to blame when the crap goes wrong.

It's a great truck, there's no doubt about that and I'm on the list but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I've driven it and want one real bad. But I got screwed buying at the peak of Model Y prices so a bit cautious about jumping on this early. I just get the sense that the price is going to fall further when it becomes obvious that the tax incentive will not happen and Elon has to further incentivize to drive sales. In spite of it being the top selling EV truck, it isn't selling like they thought it would.

I don’t qualify anyway. The income restrictions are too low, should be above $1 million joint and maybe $750K single household.

If Trump renews I would bet he sticks with USA ?? Made only. Rightfully so!!

Tesla has never offered a vehicle that they didn't eventually lower prices and/or offered incentives as production increased. I was just saying there is not much point in waiting for a tax incentive that is highly unlikely to appear.

There could be some end of the quarter deals in mid to late December. But it's also possible that demand increases as people learn just how good the Cybertruck actually is.

Because currently, there is a lot of false and negative information circulating widely and reducing demand. Tesla generally doesn't try to counter that because they know people will learn the truth as the product spreads through society.
