New horn updated!

Just saw this message in the Tesla app. Told it to “Upgrade Now” and by the time I walked in to the garage it had updated.

I was wondering that as well but figured I’d go with it, maybe they will allow it to change later.

I am surprised that Tesla is not enabling the ability to go back and forth between the current and the new horn. Is it truly like a firmware update? I just don't get it.

You can also put your own horn sound on the usb drive and use it and go back whenever you want.

Changing the horn in the boombox is temporary and only when you are in park as a novelty - not for driving around,.

So, while you are driving, you have the horn that Tesla has set.

Does the old horn use the external speaker, too, or is there an old-school horn somewhere that will no longer have any purpose?

Yeah I wonder if the normal horn is a hardware horn. it would be nice to be able to switch back and forth.

Either way I upgraded it. I drove Fire Trucks for a long time... this one will get peoples' attention ?

you’ll get a service type message in the app with a link to the sample sound

For those wondering, this is initiated from a message in the app. Then launches a web page that after some delay says update successful” (hopefully).

Update: the url it goes to is https://www.tesla.com/vehicle-update/upgrades?vin=[inswrt vin]&optionCode=%24CTH1&rn=[insert reservation number]. You may get it to work without the message. Not sure though.
