RN113556XXX got my foundation invite tonight. (June 2020 preorder).
Why did you get rid of the R1T?

I received the invite a week ago. May 2020 preorder. I don't think I'm ordering.

I should also add that the desire to get it under the $80k threshold to offer a tax incentive is used to draw up interest and orders but I suspect they care more about making a few extra k per vehicle before the demand has been fully exhausted before they lower it under $80k, no?

THIS. I suspect non-FS AWD becomes available in 2025 for $89,900 and in mid/late 2025 the Single Motor appears at $69,900 which becomes the 'tax credit' option.

In 2026? Who knows. I could see non FS-AWD dropping to $82,900 with no change to single motor pricing. At that point the Beast may drop to $92,900 but given how few Beasts seem to be in production now I wouldn't hold my breath on a Beast price drop.

Dont forget folks that there is a delta between the amount of profit the foundation tax nets tesla vs potential sales that the far more appealing 80K non foundation truck gets them. Seeing how many people who are years down the list are both receiving invitations and opting to not order, we may be approaching the magic ratio.

When they have 2 million + reservations, they have a whole lot more to offer the foundation model to. It's reasonable for people to wait, but people should also consider that if Tesla cycles back to the beginning of the reservations that passed on the foundation model, the base 80k model will probably have big spike in demand... So if you are already 300k+ in the reservation #s... You'll be back to waiting for them to offer you a base model all over again. So passing on the foundation trim can easily mean you will wait another year unless you were early reservation #.
Yeah when the price drops the orders are going way up. There’s probably at least 50k trucks that will be ordered.

I passed on my FS vin too. Rather put the money in to a high yield account so long and get a later model for less with hopefully better buid quality.

i bought an early 2020 model y performance. Did regret not to wait a little longer for them to fix the suspension.

love this truck cannot wait ;)

I feel as though we may be closer than we think to the end of the foundation series upcharge.

I was assigned a vin that 3 different people had passed on, (i also passed on it).

Also people are going from order to vin in a matter of days, the production rate is accelerating and we are just a few weeks away from the 20K vin mark.

I feel as though it is really hard for tesla to justify a "limited edition" after 20K have been mass produced.

I say all this selfishly as I want a cyber soon but I don't want to pay the foundation tax.
You are right. I estimated that I was about 750,000 in line.(original order placed 5/27/2020).
I got my invite 5/30. My guess is end of November (year from first delivery) or first 20k or end of 2024. (overheard an employee say EoY)

Why did you get rid of the R1T?

I received the invite a week ago. May 2020 preorder. I don't think I'm ordering.
1.) I live in southern NJ and I was over 2 hours from the Brooklyn service center.
2.) No FSD and I use it everywhere
3.) Seats were not comfortable for me and I have a couple herniated discs
4.) I purchased the truck and the financials of the company were/are concerning for warranty. Look at Fisker owners for example.
5.) Reading of high repair costs and long time for parts
6.) Had to move front seats to far forward for my son's car seat (and now I have another one coming in the next month).
7.) Half shaft clunks
8.) Thinking that cybertruck was coming and was going to kill R1T on price
9.) CCS (no talk of supercharger access before I sold)

R1T is a great product and I hope they survive the financial hurdles they are up against. If you are considering one, I would suggest leasing to limit your financial risks and get full value of the IRA savings.

Are you forgetting there are 2 million plus reservations? I don't see the word "Limited" in Foundation Series. The only limit is the number of people willing to buy the FS. Let's say reservation number 2 million gets his opportunity to order a FSCT today. He has a choice, he can spend $20k extra now, get a truck now, or wait years until the guys with earlier reservations configure and receive their standard CT. FWIW, I believe Tesla will offer the FSCT to every last one of the reservation holders before offering a non-Foundation series CT to anyone (am I repeating myself?). I believe a new buyer could place a reservation today and get his FSCT before the first in line for a non-Foundation Series buyer gets his CT.

Nothing major on mine. Just showi g her age livig in the Texas sun all those years (did not fit in the garage).

- clearcoat is basically gone on 2/3 of the truck
- paint is mostly gone on the hood and roof
- leather seats worn through (and two sets of leather seat covers)
- both front doors out of alignment after getting blown out of hands in a major storm

BUT! She still runs, had to replace the alternator after 21 years. The AC compressor after 23. The oil pan after 24. So, I got my money's worth out of it while I see newer F-150s have more issues in the first four years than I have seen (mechanically).

Time to move on....
yea my 2002 EXT Escalade truck has 150k miles looks & runs great, garage kept, love it but gotta make room for the Beast....

So how long until you get your non-foundation configure email? Even if they do start in January 2025, you won't get a non-FSCT configure email until 2027?

Right, so I ordered the Beast - my guess is that less than 4k Foundation series CyberBeasts will ever be made. I'm not waiting. There are lots of other trucks over 100-120k

I don't think Tesla is going to milk us any further than the Foundation Series. They're knowledgable enough about production ramps to eventually be able to start selling cars at a set price/rate with the typical Tesla fluctuations.

After initially being shocked and peeved in early December to receive an invite to pay a $20-30k markup, I see it works out in our favor to be forced to wait. Production kinks and software updates are continuing to be pushed. I would hope Foundation Series ends when the new hubcaps are finalized and Autopilot/FSD is enabled. Non-FS owners are still going to buy a ton of accessories and whatever else was included with FS.

Do you have a VIN or are you in Oct/Dec Delivery crowd?
