This is what we'd call a "piss poor job". That wrap will not make it to the end of the year. I also would not let them remove a single panel. My .02.

Well, it's PurePPF, so I figured that was a quality brand. I don't think Xpel is the ONLY quality brand. I don't think this is a film issue; it's an installer issue.
Your problem has nothing to do with the brand. I have a PurePPF wrap and it came out perfect. It is also rugged. I had a car back into the side of my cybertruck. It ruined the BMW's bumper but didn't even scratch the wrap on my door.

Two things:
1. That front corner of the cantrail in the first picture is very difficult if not impossible to get perfect.
2. I would absolutely not allow them to remove the cantrail. I haven't even had the recall done because I'm not sure I trust TESLA to remove it and reinstall properly.

Ok, I took some more photos, and I tried to annotate what I see in them. I tried to get all the pollen off; this time of year, it's nearly impossible to. Please tell me the "right" way to fix all this, and if I'm being too picky. For torn edges, it seems like that can only be fixed with new film. I don't want him to just glue down the edges. Overall, it just doesn't seem like a very professional job. He said that stuff happens after the initial install and needs to be fixed about 2 weeks later. Is that just BS? Also, I'm not sure what all the splotches all over it are. They seem to wipe off with some elbow grease. He said he ceramic coated the film....maybe that's what it's from? Finally, I didn't ask for the "3D" cerberus emblem; that was his touch. I just wanted a satin black one. Any thoughts on the 3D emblem?

Any bubbles are common and are worked out with an after visit. The bubbles can take a little time to appear.

Just an update. I reached out to Pure to get their feedback as well. They are great, btw. They called and went over all the photos with me and assured me they would work with the installer to get everything taken care of. He said he's seen way worse and marginally better, so that is reassuring. I have an appointment in two weeks to take it in, so we'll see how it turns out after that.

Mine is wrapped in a very similar color to yours. Terminax Satin Black Phantom Red. I had the same problem where the wrap didn't adhere to the other side of the wrap-around areas if it's cut too short. PPF is simply too thick and/or not sticking as well to smooth stainless steel compared to paint. Anyhow, my installer just used a razor blade to cut it flush to the edge, then used a black paint marker pen (has to be paint, not a permanent marker) to cover the stainless edges. Mine looks fine now.

Not a fan of XPEL film I wrapped a CT in matte clear and it ended up yellowing after a year.

Holy sheet. The workmanship is abysmal to say the least.

This thread confirms why I don’t plan on wrapping my SAWD when it arrives. I’m going 100% naked stainless steel as Tesla intended. Wraps are basically a large vinyl decal that eventually fails due to strong ultraviolet rays from the sun, road debris, environmental exposure, etc.

I wrapped multiple cars in the past and they were all fine; one going on 9 years, the other 7. PPF is different than vinyl. PPF typically carries a 8-10 year warranty. This is an installer inexperience issue that will be made right. To wrap or not is personal preference. But PPF is made to combat exactly what you stated: UV, road debris, door scratches, environment, etc. Granted, the stainless steel in the cybertruck negates a lot of the positives of having a PPF wrap, but that's different than saying having a PPF wrap causes more worry about those things you stated.

Hey everyone,

I just got my 2026 Beast wrapped. I love the color, but noticed some things on the install. I've never had a wrap done before, so I wanted to see if this all sounds right. I'm taking it back to the installer on 5/4. The biggest concern for me is the cant rails. They didn't wrap them under, and in some places, the cut is very uneven with metal exposed. Seems like it should be cut straight. He said they will remove the rails, wrap around them, and reinstall them. That makes me nervous with all the rail issues and recalls. Is the wrap installer qualified to do that? I don't want them flying off on the highway because he didn't know how to reinstall them.

He also said that the corners had to be folded around because the PPF would rip otherwise. Does that sound right, or am I dealing with an inexperienced installer?

Thanks.

I had a similar experience and i paid 5k for mine. Lot of imperfections just like what you are showing. Still love the look and it wasn't worth battling with them endlessly over it so i just live with it.
