A prototype is the easy part. Scaling to mass production at a lower cost is the real challenge. There were four years between the Cybertruck unveiling and the first deliveries.

QuantumScape has been in the industry for over 10 years and only recently built their first Eagle line for Solid-State Battery Pilot Production

Not really, even a prototype that meets all the claimed specs would be close to a miracle and has as of yet been impossible.

VTT labs have announced they tested the Donut battery. This is a real testing company so things are looking more realistic:

The problem has always been making the batteries outside of the lab, at scale for the mass market.

Not that this isn't a great accomplishment, but this is production for likely a very low volume niche product.

It is a fantastically unbelievable achievement. But I really do think it is not believable.

VTT is a respectable lab, although they will test what you ask them to test. It’s curious they have put out this release. Is the release a synchronised PR gig with Donut or them covering their backs by stating all questions should be directed to Donut? Remains to be seen.

But whatever VTT has been asked to test should be reliable.
