Looks like no tax credit for the Cybertruck in 2024.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but figured I would get out there so those placing orders are not surprised.

((BTW, the Ford Lighting ($7500) and Rivian ($3750) still qualify for the credit.))

The TESLAs that still qualify.

Looks like that is due to the Foundation Series add-ons bringing the MSRP for dual motor AWD to over the $80,000 limit. Tesla's website shows that it will likely qualify sometime this year, likely when they start allowing base Cybertruck dual motor AWD to be configured.

Depends on the prices. Any truck has to be under $80K to qualify.

I wouldn't say anything from the Feds is 100% final at this point for 2024 deliveries.

https://fueleconomy.gov/feg/tax2023.shtml

The "check VIN" text--applies to all 2024 EVs--says:

"For you to receive the credit, the dealer must confirm that your specific vehicle qualifies and must provide you with an IRS time-of-sale report."

Is this forum just 99% FUD? Jeezaloo....

The fact of the matter is, it's not yet on the website because Tesla has not yet registered the CT to be listed. When regular dual monitor units are available, it will be listed.

Would you like to clarify your statement?
I'm looking at Design Your Cybertruck | Tesla and I see all the prices. And since I've already configured, I've seen the Foundation prices (which I can't get back to anymore)

And the tax information is in many places.

So what's not on the website?

Tesla DID register the AWD CyberTruck with the IRS, but has since had/gotten it removed. The US manufacture and parts source requirements were met, but now the MSRP has put it over the limit.

The only way what I posted is FUD, is if FUD stands for Fact Until Different.

My guess is. It would qualify fine.

They haven't registered it for this year yet.

And it's all part of the plan.

Because you are more likely to get a foundation series if you don't think you could get the federal credit anyway.

A little sneaky imo.

But hey .. that's just a theory.

A Tesla theory.

Aaaand cut

Tesla can add back the AWD later

but this *does* further solidify what we already pretty much knew: they don’t plan to start selling normal retail AWD too soon
Depends on your definition of "soon"

My guess is that the non-Founders duals will start shipping in April. When you look at the timelines of when the beast starts shipping and the RWD, and that the AWDs are being promised Jan-Mar, you have to ask yourself, what are they shipping in April?

But they've got to get the Founders out first and Christmas over with. And probably most importantly, get the factory ramped up. So I suspect that the "night of" folks may see config requests coming late February.
