Non foundation VIN to delivery timeframe?

Oh man the cold feet feeling while I await a VIN is sinking in….placed order 10/4, no VIN yet.

How much could I save on a Cybertruck if I hold off 12 months I wonder…10k? 20k? what do you think? Some people paid 134k or something like that for model S plaid and is now 50k less.

I think the fear of having to wait literal years has melted away for me…what do you guys think?

I had a service appointment for my model 3 today, and was looking forward to sitting in a Cybertruck to help push these nasty feels away but they didn’t have at the SC I was at!

Instead I oogled at someone FS sitting in the parking lot while I waited for my uber for 20 minutes, and it helped. A little bit.

Yes but how long do I wait…it’s been 5 years already and I’m still walking off the pain of it costing me approximately $35k to drive a Model 3 for the past 4.5 years.

Waiting for a better financing offer, or even an FSD transfer might be the smarter move here but I think it’ll be like 18-24 months before that’s a thing. Unless CT is a bust at $80k

I don’t anticipate the base CT dropping below $79k in any scenario outside a redesign model. It’s expensive, but when you look at direct competition the pricing is in line with other trucks that have similar features.

Paying cash. All paperwork done, insurance obtained, etc. Just waiting on a delivery date now.

I opened a chat with the delivery people through the app and they said "just under two weeks" for it to come from TX to IL. I'm hoping that is just being conservative. I'd rather take the CT on my hunting trip on the 28th as compared to the Model S.

For those who have taken delivery, will there be an email or an app notification? I feel like I'm checking every 15 minutes to see if I've been given a delivery date.

Update: I messaged the delivery center about a date and they said ETA is 10/29. I'll push my hunting trip off by a day to go get my CT and take it with me!

If you call the service center they let you know that this date provided is called their “non-confident” delivery date. Once the vehicle arrives, you won’t be able to take delivery for at least a couple days depending on their workload with other vehicles coming off the trucks and cleaning them up and preparing them for delivery. I say this to say.. you may wanna push off the trip by a week vs a day.

I’ve already gone from “non-confident” delivery of 10/19 to 10/25 and in both instances have been told that this won’t be the date the truck is available but rather the date the truck should hit your center.

If I run into a surprise and my truck is at Maplewood tomorrow I’ll of course let everyone know.. but trying to temper my expectations.

What is your spec? I ordered 10/05 and still don’t have a delivery date and in fact they pushed it back on their “non-confident” window. I’m Minnesota as well so curious how others are fairing as it seems everyone that ordered between 10/04 and 10/05 has been given a delivery date except me. Ha!

No Date as of yet.. Dual motor. I am west of the Roger's Service Center. I admit, I noticed a declaration that Delivery dates, may be end of Oct thru First 2 weeks of Nov.

Yes, the VIN assignment to furthest available delivery date can be as short as five days! I was able to reschedule mine for one day later. It’s important to have everything ready even before getting a VIN assignment. As of yesterday, Tesla will be allowing those without an RN to design and order a Cybertruck. Guessing that the RWD option can’t be too far off.

So I’m down to 1 car and the wife is piiisssthed I use it as much as I do because I bought her a new car 2 weeks ago as well.

Being a one car family ain’t fun even with myself being a work from home person and her being a stay at home mom.
