Tesla Cybertruck OEM Lightbar is awesome IMG_3831

five minute install after Tesla did their thing and fully integrated through the user interface, and very low profile, I absolutely love this thing and have zero reason to buy this, but I just wanted it!

Happy 4th everyone 🇺🇸!

Nice!! Looks great.

I just installed mine today. Only had to wait two years, haha!!

I found an SC willing to sell me the install parts and got the light bar from eBay. This was obviously before the lightbar was offered in the Tesla shop, haha!!

Very straightforward install. I said in another thread I thought the bracket/endcap solution was clever. Between the 3M 1500 VHB and the brackets, that bar isn’t going anywhere, haha!!

This is a want and not a need for me. With side mirror delete and this, it gets very close to the original prototype design.

Saw one video on YouTube that justified this as a backup option for when the headlights get packed with blowing snow.

My SC installed, OEM light bar is full of water! How long I have no idea as it is not something I normally inspect. I have added it to the list of work needed when she goes on for the ever elusive PCS replacement.

the lightbar looks cool, yet it doesn't have the low profile the original Tesla made lightbar had.

I am curious if anyone knows: why didn't Tesla make a smart switch on lightbar similar with the switch they have on the headlights, smtg like lightbar ON with user saved setting 10%-100% when no cars incoming, lightbar ON at 5% low level light setting when incoming cars . was that too expensive, technically unfeasible, or did they just let go of the whole lightbar accessory because of the mounting issues with double taping.

I really liked ( and hope) a low profile product like the Tesla lightbar could be purchased for a good price as an esthetic accessory and not a true lightbar.... CT looks great with an "accent light" .. maybe I am the only one wishing for a cool looking light accent :)

The lightbar is not even close to being legal to use on public roads, and it seems like the height of a lazy/entitled attitude to flip on the lightbar instead of simply brushing the snow away from the headlights, something I've been doing for over 40 years.

It would seem YouTube can justify anything nowadays. I would hate to encounter one of those drivers on a snowy night! You want your headlights down low when it's snowing so you are not blinding yourself. Snow hypnosis/vertigo is very real and has caused many crashes. It makes me wonder if they have ever even driven in the snow at night (or what they are smoking).

Low lights are key when it is snowing.
Off road lights are key off road.

Following behind a vehicle using off road lights at night during heavy snow would be one of the safest ways to drive. You can easily follow this vehicle to stay on the road. If this vehicle were behind me, I would pull over and let them pass but first, ask them if I can have some of what they're smoking! 🤣

My original justification other than I just wanted it but as pointed out by @HaulingAss it's way too bright to use where other drivers with limited visibility will be further blinded.

this light bar is not acceptable in blowing snow. all you will see is a “warp speed” sort of perspective of snow flying at you. It will actually REDUCE visibility in a snow storm. i know from experience.

I love mine! Do I use it a lot? Certainly not. It looks great though and really fits the look and feel, integration in vehicle is great although I do wish you could tap the light bar on the main image to turn it on and off. I’ve noticed no range difference and no wind noise. IMHO OEM is the way to go and is worth the price.
