Wow I figured they just would take the original design and make those edges like 1/2" shorter, more outward a tad bit, or a softer material.

Sure hope they do get them to us

Talked to my service rep last week. He said they were still waiting on the redesign. Obviously something could have changed since then but who knows.

Hope they let us know so I can bite the bullet and buy the custom caps.

they have to make something, I dont think they will keep them bare
That's an idea if ever l saw one!
Bear Proof Hubcaps....years ago there was a car that came with bear styled caps/wheels.
If they do a fair dinkum redesign, you could use the CYBERCAP as a shield when fighting off Knights on Horseback. Naturally, this is all in Joust!

I have said this before, but I am shocked at the missed opportunity by the Chinese sellers on Amazon and AliExpress, but maybe they have a second opportunity here. Do your thang! I am sure they can sell thousands of these for $200 a set.
the youtube video from tsportline said there was .1" of wear on the tire after just 1000ish miles of driving.. any 3rd party remaking the original will need to add a lot of tolerance. i think mnfctrs are waiting to get their hands on it first before making a product.

there will be a TON of rim options and addons coming out.

if you guys still need caps I offer them

I picked up my new Cybertruck on Tuesday the 18th. The Sales Manager told me that he had received an email that day from the higher ups saying that the wheel covers are not coming back. Thought I'd pass on the word and see if anybody else had heard the same.

By the way, first time poster, but long time reader. This place was a wealth of knowledge for me prior to order/pickup. Thanks!!

Originally I really wanted them but after further analyzing, I may go with aftermarket rims. I'm not too worried about adding an additional 20 miles range to the truck as much as I want it to look good. I'm using these for now till I find the after market rims that I want.

The original covers make the wheels appear to be 24" in diameter which looks awesome, it's just they look plastic and cheap and I would never have run them myself even if they came with the truck.

I went Tsportline 24s and am very happy I did. Although I am not a fan of Tsportline as a company at all, and have a hard time recommending them, I get a ton of compliments on my CT7s

Those wheels look so good! If I ever go Aftermarket I will get the same ones! My favorite are the Unplugged Performance Cyberhex but 20k for some wheels is too rich for me.

I am honestly shocked that UP has the nerve to charge that kind of money for those wheels. They don't even have any carbon fiber in them, and I personally think they don't look great but thats my opinion lol. But I am positive that if they are charging $20k they are profiting $15K on those without a doubt.

I still see plenty of CT driving around with original hubcaps in LA. I even got the chance to speak to one early January owner she still had the hubcaps and several thousand miles on her CT with very little rubbing issues. I doubt that fixing the problem is that complicated but likely low priority so it got put into the bottom pile. I’m sure we will see a redesigned hubcap coming sooner than later.

No worries. The aftermarket will fill in the void.

I was a huge fan of the OG wheel covers.

IMG_0787.jpeg
That may be true but the wheel covers were part of the price of the car. If Tesla wants to reimburse us for the wheel covers (for my Model Y I think it was $25-$30 per wheel) then fine.

Tesla should just provide free Supercharging to the original owner for life. That would offset some of these minor things Foundation Series owners have been dealing with since launch.
I like the idea but I do not expect it to happen.
