No paint. No wrap. I really think wraps on the Cybertruck won't stand up to the long term look one is after when they wrap. Also the warranty is on the product. Not the labor. Got to still have it reapplied, and then does it match?

I have 3 other Tesla's that have paint full PPF. XPEL has been on my S for 300k+ miles, and yes XPEL has replaced a piece here and there.

Great for paint cars. Not so much for SS.

I laugh when I see a wrapped Cybertruck. Just like I would laugh if I saw a wrapped Delorean.

Paint? Stop it.

Will the PPF wrap last as long as the ultra-hard steel? ?
Definitely not, but just FYI - the steel starts "staining" (for the lack of better word that I can think of) in less than a year :/

The stainless only starts "staining" if one is a garage car. A show pony. A garage Queen. One that is used rarely. Yet what would I expect from a wrap salesperson.

Put one's really nice stainless product form kitchen outside for a year. What would one expect? No. No. It should look like it did when it came out of the box. Where do these people come from?

It's your truck, do what you want to do.

Paint is fragile; that's one of the many appeals of the CT, No Paint.

If you are painting the exterior, that's one thing, but if you want it to look like it was painted from the factory, you will need to remove every single piece of trim, remove the doors etc... We are talking big bucks to do that. Then, hope and pray that a shopping cart doesn't hit the truck.
Make sense.

Our wrap is designed to withstand car washes, even automatic ones. I’ve been doing it for a year with 0 issues. To clarify it’s ppf and we made our own pattern that’s easy to DIY and folds around edges securely. We also have a bunch of install locations if DIY is not for you. Just check the reviews :)

Grok's advice
TLDR: don't bother that lined up with my decision to leave the SS as is....

Then I asked about damage and electrocoating....
Thanks man, I did the same research and found out similar conclusions. Appreciate it.

The good thing is when painted stainless steel starts to fail (and it will) it takes on a real "antique" look that gives it a wonderful character that is hard to replicate:

Just beautiful! This is what you should strive for! I think it will only cost around $9,000 on a vehicle as small as a Cybertruck. Totally worth it, it's a priceless look and you will have a one-of-a-kind Cybertruck, but only because every other owner is too poor and too dumb to realize what a good idea this is. A dark paint color will look more "happening" as the paint gets scratched and starts to come off. ?

A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Thanks,

Oh my! Mine lives outside under the trees, rain, sun and snow 24/7. I don't have a clue what you are talking about. People tell me it looks great. Even when coated in dirt, the bright stainless shines through.

Here's one example of many:

I definitely don't fuss over it, I clean it less than I ever cleaned a painted car and it looks better, more often than not.

If that's your real experience I have to think you are doing it wrong. It's really easy. Wash with soap and water, dry with a clean towel if you are really picky.

If you want to spiff it up between washings, Sprayway works great.

If you get staining from road salts, hit it up with some Citrasurf or Foamy Bar Keepers Friend. Wash and dry.

If you off-road and get tiger stripes from being muddy or dusty and dragging it through trees and shrubs, polish it with a random orbit sander, no worries about polishing through the clearcoat. Because it doesn't have a coating of any kind!

It's the most carefree vehicle I've ever owned or used to keep nice looking with no worries.

Mine is always wrapped and only see it naked when I change colors. And I mostly do gas station car washes as it’s faster.
I agree that this is a very care free vehicle, especially the part where you don’t care about door dings anymore,.
