Wait! Now for the moment of truth...

Since @HaulingAss likes to make statements that are questionable, I decided to research this a bit...

So I started with this:

https://oceansidemotorsports.com/how-often-should-i-get-a-wheel-alignment-for-my-tesla/

and I thought that @HaulingAss will make some excuse about it being a non-knowledgeable non-Tesla related site that was likely written by a 19yo kid. So then I thought... "Why not just ask Tesla?"

So I did. I called Tesla service and spoke to Jason, the service manager and I asked him..."How often should I get my alignment checked. Interestingly he said it's good to check it every 8-10K miles. He also stated "If you live on a dirt road with washboards, lots of potholes, or you off-road much, then you should get your alignment check more often than that."

I then asked him "Jason, are alignments covered under warranty?" His answer: "No. That is a normal wear and tear maintenance item." :p

There is no doubt the Cybertruck has a more rigid chassis compared to all other ICE trucks out there, it's not even close.
I said "suspension". Chassis is irrelevant.

There are two primary reasons a vehicle might need an alignment after hard use:

1) The suspension components have wear in them and are no longer holding the wheels at the correct attitude. This is a gradual change in alignment over many thousands of miles and all vehicles can and will experience this if driven far enough.
It's not necessarily gradual. Hit a pothole.. Hit a curb head on... and of course rock crawling will wear them significantly faster. I have literally had my alignment done and hit a massive pothole (on a dirt road I might add), and I had to go right back in a few days later to get the alignment redone. That is not gradual.

2) The chassis of the vehicle has changed shape. With traditional pickups this is more common than you might imagine, particularly under hard off-road use or pushing the payload ratings. The Cybertruck is constructed in such a way (with aluminum castings and large panes of glass) that, if the chassis changes shape, you have much bigger problems than needing an alignment. Short of a collision or other severe structural damage (like from hard landings after a jump), it's just not going to happen.
The chassis is completely irrelevant. I believe you are referring to the frame. Yes, after you f*ck up the frame, you always need an alignment.

Just ordered a foundation series Cyberbeast - got the free charging which pushed me to purchase. What do I need to know and or prepare for?
Watch YouTube videos on all the settings, learn what all the buttons do on the steering wheel. Find some nice person that already owns a CT, so if you get stuck, you can text or call him to get unstuck.

Learn all the specs of the truck, because everyone that talks to you (there will be many) will want to know. You will be a celebrity.

Be careful when street racing, it blows the doors off of 95% of all hot cars. If you don't know how to street race, it could be dangerous for you.

The current version of FSD will try to kill you, do not believe that it is flawless. I have an 11 mile drive to work and had to disengage 3 times on simple things that humans would easily drive through. The good thing is that FSD is getting better with every release. :)

Have fun! You will enjoy driving it!

Are you planning on wrapping? My personal experience with scratches is that the service center will only make it worse.
This was my experience as well, they did ok on the hood and the tailgate, but the doors have some serious shiny spots now and they said that they won't fix it.

So Tesla will do alignments for free during the warranty period? Thats news to me, but if so, thats good news. Mainly because if you off-road with this vehicle, you will definitely be needing an alignment at some point, especially if rock crawling.
but lets be fair, if you off road, no a free alignment is not justified
what I should have clarified, if after delivery you suspect a pull, bring to Tesla's attention and request a realignment under warranty, a delivery issue, bad alignment from the factory

Agreed. Yes, right after delivery you should not be needing an alignment for normal road use. However I am saying it's normal maintenance. If someone gets a free alignment under warranty at 15-20K miles, I want to know about it (y)

Like I said, all cars need regular alignments as suspension parts wear, but that is more of a long-term concern, not a new vehicle concern.

You are barking up the wrong tree and it's starting to look pretty silly.

Maintenance after perfect delivery
Yes paid alignments

If it pulls at delivery, warranty covered alignment, starts you off perfect

Btw, with 4 wheel steering, not sure many exception Tesla have these specialized alignment skills

So I made a decision, I had ordered the foundation AWD cybertruck, but after talking to the people at the dealership and test driving more, I really wanted the cyberbeast it was just to expensive (foundation)

Tesla offered me a foundation cyberbeast that had 2k miles was a test driver , and had one motor replaced for 105k. Otherwise in New condition full warranty etc...

I took that deal and accept delivery this coming week.

Is this a bad deal ? If this was a gas car I wouldn't be concerned, I figure it's barely broken in and has a new motor.

Thoughts?

Grey and cyber are the base options, but FSD alone would make it a good deal. Then ya add in supercharging, light bar, and all the extra goodies. ??
