For the same price as the cyber tent, I got the urander bed rack with the overland inspired roof top tent. Yes it does fit into the garage, over all height when suspension is on low is 6'5". So far when travelling in town i don't notice any drop on range, and at 70-80mph i loose about 10-15% range from stock.

I don’t know. I’ve been fiercely loyal to the cause of keeping the shape of the truck as is but I can see how this makes more sense in some ways.

Same. I just can’t with that profile. I love what Urander doing across the board and I’m glad they’re doing it. Their new tent is fire and I’m waaay into it!!

But, I don’t think I can think too much that I like less on car/truck then one of the look of a bed cap other than a bunch of fake, stick-on louvers. I just cannot accept it aesthetically. Functionally, though I have NEVER done it — I have stuck in my head that I need to be able to haul around a refrigerator standing upright if I need to and this just won’t cut it. ??‍♂

*I will note that you Urander always says that you can remove their slats for this purpose, but not if you’ve got a rooftop tent sitting up there or, an enclosed box.

Preach it. I said that very thing about a refrigerator to my wife just last night.

You can always mount the tent up front, or just hang it from the ceiling when you need to move a refrigerator ?

it does look nice but can you remove it and reinstall easily enough? I would only want that when I want to go camping/traveling, which would be a couple times a year

the RTT is held on by 4 clips, each clip has 2 bolts. But to remove it, you just need to loosen one bolt at each clip and rotate the clips to unlatch. The urander bed rack is a little more involved. However if you have 2 people, it’s pretty easy.

I will not spend my money on a Cybertent, IMO it's a poorly designed tent in comparison with other available alternatives.

It's the only tent that can do the following:

1. obviously not cause a range hit
2. when bikes are needed, still allows 4 bikes to be mounted above the glass roof while the tent is deployed (obvious a range hit in this case)
3. allow storage inside the truck bed under the tent (I want to build a pullout kitchen underneath)

If there was something that can do all of that and was a simpler popup style tent that's quicker to deploy and sits under the tonneau cover not affect range or prevent bikes from being transported while allowing for supercharging, I would go for that, but that doesn't exist.

There is a tailgate bike rack that rotates out of the way that could work, but I only found one that works with 2 bikes, not 4.

With those racks, you won't be able to reverse the Cybertruck into a V3 supercharger and be close enough to plug it in.

Even with the swing-away style tow-hitch racks, it would give access to the tailgate, but the bikes protruding will still be in the way of the neighboring supercharger to get close enough to plug in. I think the only way to make it work is to take up 2 charging spots to fit, but then you're that guy taking two spots and even if you're fine being that guy, you would have to always rely on two spaces next to each other to charge.

I'd rather take the range hit with bikes on the roof than have to deal with those supercharging issues. Plus a roof-mounted rack feels safer to sleep overnight on the truck with the bikes locked up top.

Leo, I think when most people say this, they mean the various other options which require a roof rack but they are willfully ignoring that you need to a) spend money on said rack and b) live with the rack when you’re not camping and c) ignore the measurable range hit.

I have and love my cybertent but I think the best alternative is not actually on the truck but something like a coody koala which is my other tent.
