I hate how Tesla just cut off the $4000 install credit. I configured my beast when I got the email May 30 and apparently they cut off that $4000 install credit on May 23. ?
Yeah, im sorry, that sux....we rarely get power outages so I dont think I'd have gone the PowerShare route if it was $3.8k out of pocket

I ordered May 24, also did not know they cancelled it - maybe worth a complaint to Tesla?
I've been trying to find someone to speak with about it. It's bullsh!t honestly. There are people that ordered after I did but configured a week before due to geographic location that get the credit but I don't?

Does anyone have the email that detailed their $4000 install credit?

What does QMerit do again? Near as I can tell, they call someone in your area who knows how to do the actual work and asks them to come to your house and scope, estimate, and execute the work and then the actual worker sends the bill to QMerit so they can mark it up (a lot) and pass it along. Is that about right?
QMerit does the middle man part of the install. Yes.

Seems like Tesla is also letting us robbed by a middleman by not making it easy for an electrician to have access to their tech

I have a 9yo home with 200amp service....for reference here's my details - and top notch local contractor with 4.9 stars rating...total <$4k and seems both fair and reasonable. Actually asked them for a separate quote for a 14-50 outlet install. I will say Colorado is still a consumer friendly environment (less gouging) vs. say SoCal or equivalent.

Permit $375.00

Tesla Universal Wall Connector - up to 60 Feet. $1,748.00

Tesla Gateway - Main Breaker Separation $1,757.50

  • Install a Tesla supplied gateway within 5 feet of the main panel.(in garage back to back with meter)
  • We will intercept the circuit feeding the main panel and terminate inside of the gateway.
  • This includes installing the circuit from the main breaker to the gateway to allow the transfer switch to operate the whole home with grid or vehicle power.
  • This will back up the entire home’s circuitry. (excluding circuit run from exterior panel)

So when I ordered on 6/21, it said universal connector and gateway V3 included plus $2500 toward ordering equipment. I assume that means I don’t have to buy a gateway or charger.

Hopefully it's equipment +$2500 voucher but could also be read as the voucher is for the equipment.

The $2,500 voucher is how they provide the equipment (Gateway 3V and UWC)

I don’t know. I have a lawyer in the family that would argue the single stammer saying “PowerShare and gateway include” with no Asterix. Is a single statement and the next statement says it also has $25-for installation equipment, and instruction.

Same here. Configured on May 28th and I thought the credit was still coming with the beast. Though they did change the picture there, it was very sneaky and misleading to do it that way.

The Beast was a great deal with that credit and now I have to pay $3,500 if I want to use my PowerShare equipment… sucks

My process so far:
  • Completed the powershare survey and was told I am eligible
  • Tesla tells me that equipment will be provided by qmerit and I will not receive a voucher unless I decline the installation and equipment and I am eligible for 4k credit
  • Qmerit tells me they are being shipped the equipment and will let me know when to schedule and that I'm also eligible for 4k
You definitely do not get a voucher and equipment.
Total estimate was $4650
