Lease and then buyout the lease
I wish I could do a lease on a Tesla!!!

But for some reason in the central states you can’t lease a Tesla, Rivian, lucid, or Polestar.

The only thing you can lease is a Cadillac, BMW, Jeep or a Dodge EVs for some reason?

You could always take the lease deal and refi through someone like Navy Federal (if you can become a member). They have new car loans in the 4% range. Even a used car (last 2 model years) and low mileage can qualify for the new car rates. Might be a great option to get the lease credit and roll it into fairly cheap financing.

I think gone are the days of when I financed my S at something like 1.49% through DCU. I am never giving up that loan until it is paid off.

Here is fresh Cybertruck demand article from Electrek. The site is typically negative towards Tesla.

https://electrek.co/
The two stats that stand out:
“Tesla began the second quarter with 2,400 Cybertrucks in inventory”
“Despite Tesla’s efforts, the automaker has only reduced its Cybertruck inventory by about 100 units since the beginning of the month.”

Tesla just can't catch a break. Other car makers probably shuffle things around too—cutting production or moving workers—but you don't hear much about it. With Tesla, it feels like there's always a bunch of articles popping up whenever something happens. Musk's political adventures doesn't help.

It's absolutely the media likes to roast Tesla, but also...this is new ground for Tesla. Having vehicles sitting on lots unsold for months despite incentives.

Tesla rarely makes that amount of builds without orders/demand, either.

It's not nothing, but it's also not the end of the world.

I know, let’s just ask Tesla to liquidate all trims for $50,000 each!

THIS would solve all these problems and many here could rush and pick up one first come first serve.

Right. Tesla, compared to traditional auto makers, has a far more advanced logistical system. You go to the local Tesla store or place an order online for a vehicle with the options you want. Tesla receives the order, finds or makes a vehicle with the desired specs, and delivers it promptly.

With traditional auto makers, it's different -- you pick from whatever the dealer has in stock. If your local dealer doesn't have the vehicle you want, you simply try a different dealer. In theory, you could place a special order for the vehicle you want, but in practice, it will take weeks or months to arrive, so this is a last resort.

So traditional auto dealers have an incentive to keep large numbers of vehicles on the lot at all times. If Dealer A doesn't have the vehicle that a customer wants in stock, the customer will simply go to Dealer B, and Dealer A will lose the sale.

Tesla stores don't have that incentive. If Tesla Store A doesn't have the right vehicle on the lot, they can get it promptly. And even if nearby Tesla Store B does have it on the lot, and the customer goes there instead, it doesn't matter; both stores are owned by Tesla, so Tesla gets the sale either way.

So Teslas should not be piling up on the lots. And for S3XY vehicles, they aren't. I just checked Tesla inventory for new or demo 2024 vehicles within 25 miles of downtown Los Angeles. I literally could not find a single 2024 S3XY in inventory. But I found forty 2024 Cybertrucks. Agree that it's not the end of the world, but it's clearly unusual for Tesla.

Tesla have no one but themselves, leadership and the board to blame. Whether it is reasonable or not, CT was over priced, over schedule and under ranged from what hundreds of thousands of people thought they were preordering and then shortly after release, it suffered Elon's bad PR hanging around its neck.
For such a remarkable vehicle, it deserved a better start.

Say it again!

Tesla could have gone up $5k-$10k maybe and still filled 500,000 ordered out of the two million as projected, but greed…

“dug their grave!”
