I am not 100% what I am going to do once i get my delivery but I am planning to Turo my CT once in a month or so to get some money towards the payment. I saw some discussions on Reddit that if the Tesla finds out that you are renting your Tesla , they VOID your warranty. Is this a rumor or true?
Also, as a best practice, should you Turo as individual or under an LLC.
Any input is greatly appreciated from this awesome community of current and future owners of CT.

Curious too as I want to rent mine for advertising purposes. Why not, have multiple cars, can afford to not have it for a weekend.

The only thing that voids your warranty is doing dumb shit with the truck that is above normal wear and tear. Not how it make you money.

Great to hear and that was my understanding.

This is more of an insurance issue rather than a warranty issue. If something breaks and Tesla service finds it's due to misuse, of course they could deny warranty coverage.

How do you know what anyone that rented your car on Turo was doing with it? I guess that would be my concern.

yep… if you don’t let your insurance know you are renting it or ride sharing it, it may cause problems getting it fixed in the event something happens. I know my insurance has a no-ride share and business use clause. Maybe Turo offers that kind of insurance?

Perfectly understandable and it makes sense.

Yep that is the risk of Turo. Turo Insurance will fix anything that's caught.
I wasn't aware they had their own insurance system, that's actually really cool. Thanks for the info!

Amuma, thanks for this info. Do you happen to know the answer to people renting their car on Turo as individuals or under LLC or some company?
It all works the same, Turo is insuring through a 3rd party and each Turo "host" (individual or llc) is insured up to 750k. Turo works on a shared revenue format. The more you give them the more "insurance", perks and coverage they provide.
