I have been looking into replacing the tires on my CT. I have 22K on them and fronts are at 8 and rears are at 5. probably have another 10K to go (Maybe). I want to start ssaving and picking out the next tires I buy. I would have thought that the CT AWD would have heavy duty tires, but most I have looked at are LT type for all season. I want something with little road noise and that will last 40-50K at least. I drive about 25K a year back and forth to work and pleasure. I have read some of the tire stories on the site, but still am confused about the LT vs the HD tire types.
Any recommendations for a good tire that is not too expensive?

If your front tires are 8/32 and rear 5/32, a tire rotation will be beneficial to maximize remaining tread + safety.

LT tires are "heavy duty"...either load range D or E. The OEM tires are load range D, appropriate for the Cybertruck. If you're doing a lot of off-roading or towing, an "E" load range tire might be worth considering.

Consider your highway/long distance (aka 2+ Supercharging trips) versus local. Pavement versus off-road. Number of miles/trips in snow and towing. These considerations will narrow your choices.

OEM AT tires are a good balance, and are likely more capable for off-road and snow compared to the OEM AS tires.

If you want a light-duty off-road tire, stick with the OEM Goodyear. For more aggressive snow/off-road, BFG KO3 is a good option.

If you want an on-road tire, stick with the OEM Pirelli, or look at the E rated Michelin Defender LTX Platinum if you want an E rated tire that might be louder in the cabin.

Thanks for the information, I drive in South TX, so no snow. Barely drive off road. tow once in a while if needed, but mostly Hwy driving to work and back. 500-600 miles a week easily. Did a few 1200 mile road trips to one way to Savana, GA and 1200 back so far in the last year.

I've got 38,600 miles on my original tires so far... Definitely need a new set before winter. I'm likely going with the Firestone Destination XT's. They are the lightest tires of the bunch, have performed very well on other trucks I've had. Speed rating is only 112 mph, which is the only complaint I'd have compared to the stock tires.

Havent found anyone yet that has these on a CT.

I just replaced my OEM tires with 25,500 miles driven with front and rear tires at 3mm (wear markers reached). I installed Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent tires for $2248 including alignment (Belle Tire). I chose these tires as a good compromise between off-road performance and low highway noise. The noise is no more noticeable than the OEM tires. These are rated 60,000 miles, E load rating, and have the 3PMSF symbol (three peak mountain snowflake). I like the look of the tire.

Check out the Nitto TerraGrappler G3. I got 275/65-20 LR E and didn't notice the 1/2" reduction at all, but they IMPROVED range 1-3% over the OEM GY AT's, in spite of having much more aggressive tread. I reguarly beat projected range on longer trips now, when I used to go over by ~5%, so confident now that I target 5-10% arrival SoC instead of 15-20% on supercharging legs. After several thousand miles including some trails, they are my new favorite truck tire!

I know this might start some controversy, but I find other tires with the same rating as stock ones LT 285/65 R20 E 125/122S for around $200 ea. Are these not good enough for the CT AWD ? (3PMS)
The 125 means 3700 + lb rating per tire. Truck owners say low noise level and good wear. I know it is not GY.. or Firestone, or Mitch... but even if I get 30K miles instead of 50K miles as warranted, I spend 1/2 the costs. What am I missing here? Am I taking some other risk?

Why not use the OEM size and available in this model LT285/65R20 E 127/124S?
OEM size didn't exist when I pulled the trigger. They have now expanded the sizes available, but improved range without noticible impact on performance on/off road means I will probably get this size again.

The Cybertruck OEM tires are 285/65R20, not 285/60R20, if that makes a difference for you. Some pros and cons via Grok:

When the time comes, I'll be taking a close look at the Nokian Outpost nAT.

Michelin LTX Defender Platinums
Great tires, very noticeably more quiet & great range. However, not inexpensive.
Look for the thread on them.
