same as the Roadster deposits…
So, you are saying you can get the deposit back anytime you want to request that it's returned?

Because that's how Tesla deposits have always worked. Tesla returns deposits, if that's what the customer requests.

4680s are absolutely not a "bust". I'm not sure why people can't understand that these new cells were always going to have slow, incremental improvements.
True. The 4680 development process wasn't even announced until 4 1/2 years ago and Tesla revealed they anticipated the incremental development process would take ~6 years.

People just want to throw shade on Tesla in any manner they think they can, so those who are uninformed will think, "Gee, Tesla is really a BS company".

All signs point to imminent release of the next generation of 4680 cells this year. And the most significant incremental improvement in the next gen cells might simply be a lower cost to scale and produce. Which is exactly what would be the most valuable incremental improvement right now, at least from a competitive business standpoint.

Many assumed that the range extender would never see the light of day.
Unfortunately this is going to hurt CT sales as now there is really no hope for the CT being a vehicle that can tow reasonably.
With 500+ miles of range an EV can to stuff. With 300 miles of range that gets cut to 100-120 when hauling something it just is not practical to tow and there are places you can't make it from one SC to another.

I think many here want more range in the updated cells. Tesla wants lower cost in the cells. At the end of the day lowering the cost of the truck is more important than adding range. Lowering the costs adds more buyers. Each step down in price to the cost of nothing is always better.

Tesla has been quite transparent about this for along time. Some still like to bang the head against the wall expecting a different outcome.

another 200 miles of range would be awesome. It would turn the range complainers over and you would sell more trucks. Put another row of batteries in there.

Tesla has not been transparent about anything. Don’t we at least deserve an explanation?

Incrementally a bust. I stand corrected.
Who gave you the expectation that the 4680s would be perfected on day one?

Tesla has for a long time made the stance that more superchargers are the goal rather than giant packs of batteries in cars or trucks. I am surprised for all the Tesla's you own you have yet to realize or hear such talk about that. Maybe about 30 earnings calls with the same mentioned. About 40 or 50 articles. And dozens of quotes on X from Elon.

Maybe one was in a sandy spot someplace in PA with head in the ground.

I did not book my range extender on an earnings call or reading about some Tesla engineer blowing smoke up some reporter. Tesla has to make an announcement to those who have paid actual dollars to reserve this thing. May be people have a lot of free time to listen to earnings calls and go through x posts, people with their head in the sand are more focused on their work

Remember battery day? This was presented as a fully formed product. The “incremental” improvements in prior cell density have been nowhere near what the proponents have predicted (the 15% per year projections have been WAY off base). 500 mile range was to be day one, not ten years from now, if ever. Range was the Original Tesla magic. It does not exist with a CT acting as a real truck.

Sadly hyperbole is the method to gather attention these days. Like Toyota, I’ve been waiting for their super battery for a while now. Or Honda’s superior hydrogen.

Tesla doesn't have to do anything. Talk to a Roadster reservation holder. Ask them how much communication they get both public and private.

Sure. Yeah I listen to all of them. :ROFLMAO:Just a summary of a multi thousand page thread on Tesla and investing at another forum. One could go there on any earnings day and get a summary in a second. Again surprised you haven't run into the thought that Tesla likes less batteries and lowering costs or increasing margins. Tesla increasing superchargers that can enable that thought and tie user or other OEM users to system.

Then I mean really. Tesla does have this in the mission statement. I can't imagine you have never read it. Most people I would hazard a guess know it if they participate in an online forum and own three Tesla's.

Our mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

https://www.tesla.com/ns_videos/2023-tesla-impact-report-highlights.pdf

So one could read this many ways. I read it that selling cars and trucks with giant batteries doesn't get there. Not really an acceleration. Selling more cars and trucks makes the transition quicker and uses less resources per vehicle.

Sorry you seem hurt that you aren't getting the question answered. Sit tight, or be a squeaky wheel. I always save crankiness for Tesla when I need something. No one is perfect. So working with rather than against always seems to make me feel a little better in life.

When I biught my CT a few months ago the deposit was $2k
So what happens now. Does Tesla

1. Abandon all towing claims, marketing, and hope?
2. Build a CT with the 500+ mile of range pack?
