Can anyone here tell me whether there’s any noticeable real world difference in efficiency for the AWD vs the CB (assuming same tires)?

Actual efficiency numbers would be appreciated if you’ve got them to post. Obviously lots of repeated quick acceleration kills efficiency, but I’m wondering about typical city/hwy driving. Thanks.

switched to EVs since 2016-never looked/compared at any charts/datas- I don't know why some folks are so keen on efficiency or so details.

Then you do not need to comment. The O has their reasons and that is enough. I do not have the numbers because I only own an AWD, but one would have to have both to provide a realistic comparison. Tesla told us that the AWD would get more range than the Beast and told us what that difference would be for the stock FS AT tires. I think it was 308 vs 318 but many drivers are getting efficiency in the 350 WH/mile over time, which is much better than 318 (more like 350).

I’m the same generally except knowing that it contributes ultimately to the range between charges when I drive across the country.
Now that my 2017 is older, I’ve started to take notice and change my driving style to make it a game to get more efficient.

But to answer the question, I believe you just need to watch YouTube videos about the beast since you already know about your AWD. I would imagine you already know this and just looking to see if anyone else is concerned. Right?

For me, in general pickups are not efficient. If my GMC got 16 MPG or 19, I would still buy the truck. Even if GMC told me I would get 19 but I get 16, I’d still keep the truck at the end of the day/month/year…decade.

You’re going to get the best efficiency at lower speeds, slower take offs etc. speeding is going to drop the numbers bc your fighting more wind resistance. My beast is 6 months ish, 9/11 delivery, almost 12k miles 99% of which was doing Ubers. Most all passengers never been inside a CT and nearly all request a launch durring that trip. I should prolly rotate the tires this weekend.

this is my lifetime numbers wh/mile…………

2 Cybertruck owners, each with a different model with the same tires, need to meet somewhere and drive for 50 miles at the same speed and compare stats. It should be pretty clear...

That’s quite good if you’re doing launches. I see you’re in a warm climate so that helps. Which wheels do you have, base or upgraded?

Tesla Cybertruck Real Efficiency difference: AWD vs Beast? PXL_20250320_210402805.RAW-01.COVER

Beast, no wheel covers (I have a set... still wrapped. Probably won't use them)
Longer trips:
4 x ~700mi trips at 65-75mph
2 x ~275mi trips at 65-75mph
metric shit ton x 42mi commute one-way into and back from DC.
probably 20 full launches
probably 50 or so just get on it launches
a bunch of "I can make that gap" launches.

Just for reference. But, most of the time, I'm pretty chill... My lane a little slower? So what? I'm not in that big of a hurry. I'm almost always between 338 and 375 Wh/mi. The trips and days where I launch kill my average quite a bit.

Based on the various range tests I have seen, If you have a light foot, the efficiency difference is minimal. Not sure why anyone needs the tri-motor, though. Dual motor plenty and physical lockers better than software controlled torque management with dual motors on one axle.

Nobody NEEDS a tri motor... or a dual motor. Nobody on this site NEEDS a Cybertruck. We all wanted one so we bought one. Just because I wanted more than an AWD purchaser did doesn't mean my or their wants trump the other. We are all different. I'm just more correcteder.

as you can comment-I do response to calm & soften newbies or anxious people. I've been asked that kind of question many times-what helps is when I tell people that over 90% of drive is just commuting. Not complicated numbers but common sense make people switch to EVs.

Obviously the Beast isn’t really an upgrade anyone really needs but I’m impressed that the efficiency is so similar between the two options, especially when comparing range differences for S/X on the dual/tri motor options. I know they use different motors but according to the range ratings, the S/X use a lot more power with the plaid models.
