I' m all for this. Don't get me wrong. Drill baby, drill but it does need to use pH balanced liquid solution to avoid surface staining or.... racing stripes film splash guards to avoid discoloration of stainless steel, doesn't it?

I'd recommend at least putting PPF on the tailgate + ceramic coating. That will help with the surface staining. We're also working with ClearVu to dampen it but regardless of how strong, it will still leave a trail unfortunately.

Not a chance in hell, I’m drilling a hole in the tailgate for a camera wash. I rather pull over if ever truly needed and wipe it with a hand towel.

This is great and i am interested but really Tesla should include this especially since it acts as the rearview. In the Northern winters the camera gets covered with salt and debri non stop. I could see not wanting to do it when not dealing with winters but very useful in the winters.

It would be nice to have some kind of KREGG jig to mount to help drill the hole in the exact spot. I am horrible at drilling metal....my fault lol

New feature I now want for my CT. Have a little sprayer like OP set up but instead of washer fluid, have it spray skunk scent. Skunk scent is available for sale. Just need to set up the hardware. Perhaps make the sprayer a multi tank solution where you can choose skunk as one of the smells. Then add some pleasant ones too.

Great idea. As far as drilling a hole in the tailgate, it is a permanent modification so it would be worth it. I just want to see what is involved in the installation.
edit. I did not realize it was tesbros, I will not be ordering anything from them, worst customer service I have ever had to deal with.

i got mine installed! it was great for a day but developed a kinky hose the day after and stopped working. my shop said they just fixed it, should excited to try it again.

Q: is there any way to activate the washer besides the onscreen button while looking at the front camera?

i would like to watch the sprayer with the rear camera display up. i've tried voice commands too, but none of that works.

Not right now but I feel like S3XY buttons can fix that. I'm not sure if they have it available for the CT yet but that would be awesome if we can create shortcuts for that! Glad you got it fixed!

Continually is dirty . So do the finger wipe everyday before I get in the truck … which is kind of primitive … given the tech this truck has … no different from starting the engine with a a crankshaft …

if you want a pretty car, you should get a model x or s. for me this truck is about utility. i don't care if it gets dirty, but i do need to see out the cameras

anyways, sprayer works great now. as a bonus, it works so well that i can spray cars behind me too if they piss me off.
