I recently tried the previously built Cybertruck center caps, but unfortunately, they didn't hold up well. During a trip to Houston, they flew off the truck, potentially causing harm to unsuspecting pigeons. ?
I decided to take matters into my own hands. I spent yesterday teaching myself how to model CAD using Onshape, and I'm excited to share my new and improved design with the community!
The fundamental issue with the previous version from another Maker was the lack of proper retention. I've addressed this problem head-on in my redesign. The new center caps feature a more secure fitting mechanism that ensures they stay put, even during those high-speed Cybertruck adventures.
I've also focused on enhancing the overall durability of the center caps. By optimizing the design and carefully selecting the materials, I'm confident that these new caps will withstand the rigors of the road far better than their predecessors.
If you're interested in upgrading your Cybertruck's center caps and want a design that combines style, durability, and improved retention, give my new creation a shot! I'd love to hear your feedback and see how they perform for you.
I also open sourced the design, so If you want to customize them and improve them, then please do!
