I also read the service manual more carefully, and there's a "note" about where to install the "fixation tubes" so that it doesn't block the rear window.

Looks like how mine only blocks a small portion of the top of the rear window is normal.

Thanks, again, for pointing out this detail @mongo!

Except the notes are wrong because it's the first tube that blocks it. That inital gap could be 2 instead of 3 and we'd have the same problem.
They need to remove the first tube entirely, then a gap of 3, then 2, then 2.

Edit... wait, so is the bottom tube normally visible? Must go check!

Huh, mine has a 4 row gap...
So they need to remove the top one and leave the others as is

Interesting. And you had the 1 slat added?

I do wonder why the service manual says to skip three vs just removing that top rod (like in your pic). I was actually wondering why the one rod that blocks the window is needed, but figured there must be a reason...maybe it is an error.

I am running the stock cover with the gap currently. So the before picture from the procedure doesn't match.

Mine looks all jacked compared to some on here...lol. I have an extra slat and bar. Window is safe I guess.

Whoa. That def looks like they didn’t follow the service manual for how to add the one slat (assuming that’s what you had done).

I had it in one time for the gap and I think they added a slat to fix that for the looks. Went a second time for the water ingress hoping to get the new aero cover with the seal. I got another slat...lol. I'll go again and probably get another slat and just have the old school louvers blocking the whole thing. The Trans Am Cybertruck!

It must be that the extra slat added helps to direct the water that does get past the aero cover down by the window and into the tonneau retract area which likely has a drain, as opposed to letting it fall into the bed.
