This is what you might see if you had some iron filings (dust from filing iron or steel) falling down around the door seal and left there for a week through some rainy weather. There is probably rust on the rubber door seal that left those witness marks too. Any loose iron particles could do this (a leaky garbage bag of sweepings from around a bench grinder, brake dust on someone's boots from working in a brake shop, iron dust purposefully placed there to create the illusion of a problem, etc.), the list of possible causes are endless.

What we know is it's not something the rest of us are seeing.

You can remove it with Foamy Bar Keepers Friend or Citrasurf 77. Be sure to scrub down the rubber that seals against there too (not with the two acidic cleaners named above), as it's also contaminated with iron. And iron rusts in the presence of moisture.

Appears to be a CT and not some other door.

Thanks.
it looks like the front doors are vibrating.
I took it into service the first week (July 2024) because I thought the doors were vibrating too much. You can see the scratches where the door meets the inside rubber. It came off with some sod steel wool Brillo pads. I’m going to have to take it back to service to take a look at door alignment. This certainly caught me by surprise as they are t in a highly visible

Looks like doors are vibrating too much. Some steel wool works like magic. I did take it to service month 1 to complain specifically about front door vibration. You can see where this is rubbing/scratching against metal.

Thank you!

ahwww, eating humble pie right now... :-|. I see you clean off the corrosion/rust with a bit of BKF and steel wool, looks like a soft scrub? Steel wool often leaves particles behind semi embedded in what your worked on. That becomes a source for the next rust spot. You may want to use 3M 2000 or 1000 wet sand paper instead, takes more time but no particles left behind.

Hmm...Don't you have anything better to do? This is undoubtedly not a Cybertruck. You're probably one of those haters who flips off Cybertrucks. Nice try, Not!

Did you ever do a one time surface scour clean on these inside sections of the door? Could be superficial manufacturing contaminants rusting rather than the underlying structural steel if not. May be worth scrubbing off the rust layer throroughly and then seeing if it comes back after that is done.

Hopefully some that are better at materials science than I am will chime in here.

Wonder how long it will be before these photos are all over my apple news feed, lol.

Thanks for pointing this out with these photos. I would think it is most likely moisture trapped between the seal and the metal although I suppose it could be some component of the seal itself involved or some reaction with a cleaning product similarly trapped as well.

Cheers
Barkeepers Friend , compound liquid, is good at removing the iron deposits left behind by the forming tooling. Barkeepers Friend contains oxalic acid which neutralizes/removes the rust. After using Barkeepers Friend, be sure to wipe with Windex to neutralize the oxalic acid.
