Scan or regret - Elon deepfake

Watching YouTube and came across a live Tesla town hall event. Elon was presenting, but based on the topics, it seemed like he was presenting content from 2023. About a minute before the countdown ended, where he was going to unveil the newest Tesla, a QR code appeared and the tone of voice changed to slightly robotic. The instructions were to scan the QR code, and you could deposit any amount of crypto and double it. Given the sense or urgency to deposit the funds quickly, that was an immediate tell. I was pretty shocked, as this seemed like a good deepfake…lip sync and tone were almost spot on. Just curious if anybody else caught that?

That's interesting. This year I've been watching the Tesla YouTube channel show various live events with a qr code and Elon discussing investing into crypto.

This has been a common occurrence lately. Legit channels get hacked and they change the channel name and logo to Tesla and put up a "live" show trying to get people to send them crypto.

I was reporting these to YouTube several times a week before I decided it was their problem to solve. If they can auto-detect copyright violations, they can find their own damn scams.

Matt Pocius channel had this crypto scam running in a loop. Seems he is unaware that he was hacked and is still speculating about some shadow-ban.

Yeah, it does capture our attention for a minute. Nowadays, critical cynical thinking pays off. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in today amongst scammers and opportunists. ?
