Is there a function to override old files automatically?
It seems like the Ct will have this problem for a few more weeks/months.

dosnt other models automatically overwrite old clips ?
This is from a TM3 manual so but I don't see the option on my legacy 2017 X.

It says there is an 'enabling' option to allow it to be overwritten.

by "When Enabled" they are referring to Sentry Mode and Dashcam itself there is no seperate option to delete old clips, it does it as part of sentry mode. they just mean when Sentry Mode is enabled it will do this...

i believe you can set it to automatically mark the clip to save if you use your horn, or you go into sentry mode icon and tap save, but all the other clips will be overwritten

FWIW my Sentry mode has probably been doing the same thing as OP. I can confirm that despite getting notified of new events, older clips are not being deleted.

In the last 5 days I come out to some number of new sentry events, car tells me I can view them, but the last ones that are there are from last Sunday. Yesterday I tried manually deleting a number of them, and at work this AM had a triggering event/notification, however still no new sentry clip there to view. I'm going to get an external drive, offload what I've captured so far (at least some of the funny ones), and then format and see if that helps.

I have a service center appt next week, so I'll ask them to look at it if I'm still having issues.

Maybe a fresh format of the USB stick will fix it. I formatted mine right when I got it. I will have to see if it fills up. My Model Y and Model 3 would always overwrite the old clips.
