Here’s an Englishman, born in Oxford, a Cambridge grad, and so with a standard British accent, who runs an English education program and YouTube channel, which includes a segment on explaining idioms … it so happens he has such a video on the idiom “Champing at the bit”
I refuse to take advice from people that drink warm beer

So if I’m ~284,000th in line, when can I realistically expect to have Tesla have me sign the purchase contract? Late 2024?
HOw did you figure your time frame out? Seems ballpark asking is why I am asking, I am not that far behind you at 302xxx.

It’s all guesswork. There is a spreadsheet, but roughly speaking if you figure Tesla will get to 250,000 trucks a year, and they ship between 50-100k Trucks in the first year as they ramp you can get a general idea.

Makes perfect sense then, I could potentially see min in the first half of 2025 then.

I think the first Cyber Truck delivery will be on 4 May 2023. Discuss

Good news is “early” 2023 is definitely still possible. As @greggertruck says press should be here soon.
My problem is I need the long range 3 motor version. Elon indicated he will only make the dual mid range model for the first two years. So, I am thinking 2026, but Elon promised 2021 when I gave him my $100! I live in Reno and thought about rolling out to Burning Man this year to have a word or two with him .....

Would love to see when/ where Musk said this because it’s certainly not my understanding.

Right now not a lot of people know what is coming first and the ones who do know are quite tight lipped about it.

If you're looking for Elon's specific statement about the dual mid-range model for the first two years, it might be worth checking Tesla's official updates or Elon's tweets. Sometimes, the details are buried deep, and it takes some detective work to find the exact source.
PS this thread is over one year old.
Some of the posters aren't here anymore.
But feel free to start a new one otherwise if you get no response here, if you have something new to share. :)
