Anyone have any updates on this? I have developed the issue so keen to have some insight on whether new drive units are in my future

My service center felt it and said they didn't think it was an issue. I disagreed and told them I would schedule again and expect it fixed. Not ok for a new vehicle to have abnormal vibrations.

This is what I’m afraid of

So I’ve been experiencing this same issue. The first time I took it in, the swapped out the hub. The issue persisted.

the second time I brought it in, I rode with the head tech who acknowledged the issue. This time, they bumped the issue up to the regional team. Regional decided that this vehicle just does that and sent it back to me. I was told to bring it back if the issue got worse. It did. Now vibrating all the way up to 50 mph on regen. Brought it back. Again, told that this is just the way cybertrucks behave.
This is unacceptable. It’s distracting and sucks to drive with this issue. I asked to speak w the regional team that’s telling me to suck it up, but was told that’s not possible.
im at a loss. 100k for a brand new vehicle that’s vibrating and humming. I’ve initiated the buy back process. They clearly know there’s a problem, and a fix, but they’re unwilling to do anything. Time to make some noise, people.

Mine is in for this issue right now. I'm really hoping I don't have to fight them to get it fixed like some of you guys. It's not normal, not every truck does it, and other teslas also do not do it. But, as of 10/4, there's a rear motor TSB. My super sophisticated vibration sensors (my feet) tell me that it's coming from the front of the truck, but I haven't felt the vibration from any other seat in the truck to be able to tell for sure.

Time will tell

I had the same experience as you. Only once though and I informed them I will bring it back and expect it to be fixed. Any ideas on making some noise? I'm in.

There are others on here with the same issue who have had it fixed. Appears it's the front motor. When the motor is replaced the vibration is gone.

Front motor was replaced, vibration during regen persists.

Thanks for the update. Is that the only thing that has been replaced? Do they have ideas on what else it could be? Rear motor?

it was just the front motor assembly. So it could also be the half shafts, or it could be the rear motor. This might be inherent to half shafts, they may just vibrate when you hit exactly the right amount of force to where they stop pushing or pulling and are able to rattle back and forth rotationally. and being an EV, the way that regen works may make it more obvious than ice vehicles with similar suspension/driveline.

I'm only speculating, I don't really know, but I can see the way the splines mesh together on half shafts causing something like this

Would be curious to know if the motors being replaced are front, rear or both and if it’s a beast or dual.

It appears the culprit is the permanent magnet motors which is the front motor on the beast and rear unit on the dual.

Therefore replacing the front motor on the dual wouldn’t fix the vibrating issue nor would replacing the rear motor assembly on the beast fix the vibrating issue.

Sounds like you would need to replace rear motor on dual and front motor on the beast.

This is the most interesting diagnosis I've heard. Some saying it stops when the front is replaced but others it hasn't and then both are replaced.

How did you come up with the permanent magnet?
