Can someone explain why parking your truck in your garage at home is bad?

Seems like a case of the Pickup Truck Sheriff trying to make sure folks are pickup truckin' the "right way". For me, the cons of a shorter truck would be encountered every once and a while. But, the advantage of parking in my garage would be encountered daily.

Yes we have a Tesla 3 from June 2020 and from time to time the locks freeze but it's not systematic and really not a big problem either. This happens on my Nissan Frontier too so you have to put things into perspective a bit, but that's just me!!!!

I have no problem with the locks or anything functional. It's the range. Cold kills the range.

Here where I live the standard garage depth is 24 feet. You people need bigger garages.

Personally since I didn't build my garage yet, the size didn't matter much since I could make it a foot longer if needed. But I do really like a shorter truck for city parking.

Why would you want to park in shelter?!

You don't want to walk through snow or rain to get to your vehicle?

You aren't happy when people mess with your vehicle late at night?

Exact range is a problem in winter! Same for all electric car manufacturers, no! But when you know that you have to adapt accordingly and you have all the tools to know when to recharge and where, then not such an unavoidable problem either!

But you would think about it less if your vehicle was garage kept.

Save money on electricity because your battery isn't fighting to stay in range.

Have more power and Regen when you jump in and forgot to run warmup
