In 2011, i did this minus selling my house. With my wife's blessings, i set off to explore the US in a Porsche GT3. I couldn't live out of a 2 seater so i stayed in hotels but it's been one of the most moving experiences of my life.

As John Muir once said, "When you go out, you're actually going in". (Out into the world, deeper into your mind)

Sounds great. I'd be right behind you in my RV but wife dislikes camping so have to be home most of the time. I have been fortunate to visit most all of the National Parks in CONUS though.
