More recent Cybertruck prototypes don't seem to have stainless steel beds. Maybe the bed is carbon fiber or other similar composite. Ramp in tailgate could be carbon fiber too.

Some 2023 GMC Sierra pickups have option for carbon fiber bed.
2023 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate, CarbonPro carbon fiber composite bed option is $115 option.

GMC CARBONPRO DELIVERS INNOVATION AND DURABILITY WHERE IT COUNTS
The purpose-built CarbonPro bed is the first application of its kind for carbon fiber composite and delivers best-in-class dent, scratch and corrosion resistance.
Key benefits of the CarbonPro bed include:
* Strength, durability and scratch resistance: The carbon fiber composite material provides the most scratch, dent and corrosion-resistant pickup bed in the industry.
* Corrosion-resistance: Carbon fiber composite naturally resists corrosion, helping the bed withstand weathering and maintain a premium appearance over the life of the truck.
* Reduced weight: The CarbonPro bed weighs 25 percent less than a traditional steel bed, removing roughly 60 pounds of vehicle mass. Its grained surface also negates the need for bed liners, potentially saving further vehicle mass.
* More volume: The CarbonPro bed design enables best-in-class cargo volume, increasing the already class-leading volume of the Sierra’s roll-formed steel bed by 1 cubic foot.
* More functionality: The CarbonPro bed features indentations specifically designed for tires of dirt and street bikes. Two additional tie-down locations are installed at the front of the bed.

FEAL iRamp Carbon
Portable full surface ramps for heavy loads. iRamp is a ramp which folds lengthways. It provides a full surface required for electric wheelchairs and three-wheeled scooters. It is very lightweight, made from a durable material and is capable of supporting heavy loads.
The iRamps are only 5.5 cm thick when folded up.
The iRamp Carbon series is even lighter, up to 30 % lighter than the competitors’ counterparts. As the name suggest these ramps are manufactured from carbon fibre, a material that is extremely light, rigid and strong.
Model: IRC200
Length: 200 cm
Weight: 6.8 kg
Max load: 250 kg
Recommended max height: 40 cm

I said the same thing a while back when we first saw a bed that didn't look like SS. I'm onboard with it. Whatever gives me more range. And if it's only $115 option over a regular steel bed. Maybe it's cheaper then a SS bed. Seems to me the price of the CT is coming down!!

I agree that the bed in all prototypes has been some kind of composite material. IDK if that makes it carbon-fiber, which is relatively pricey. I guess the material chosen was impacted by other engineering factors we don't know about, such as how much structure is already available underneath.

I actually was told exactly that by an investor day attendee(not the youtube guy)

But.. ooooh, that sounds expensive though.

GM is doing low volume and bed is probably made by outside supplier (who adds another margin).

2014 - 2022 BMW i3 EV had a carbon fiber body. Whole car had MSRP of $42,275.

The i3 was the first BMW to ever use a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) chassis and it was by far the cheapest car to use a full carbon tub. In fact, it still is. If you want a car with a carbon fiber chassis, you’re going to have to look at McLarens because there’s nothing else on the road with such construction.

....
looking back at the i3 and how it’s evolved since its 2014 debut, it not only seems like a much better car but it also seems like it could be one of the best BMWs of all time.

Doing the complex multiple angled shaped Cybertruck bed was probably going to be expensive using 3mm cold rolled-stainless steel.

Tesla will probably make ultra-durable carbon fiber bed in-house & at high volume.

Tesla making a carbon fiber bed in-house and at high volume will probably be less expensive than 3mm cold rolled-stainless steel complex multiple angled shaped bed.

Rumors a while back that these guys were doing the CT bed liner

They make the battery trays for lots of manus, beds for lots of others.

Munro seemed pretty high on them as bedliners, and pretty against metal bed interiors

personally, I think a SS bed would look like *SS real quick
