I'm a body shop owner and many of our workers drive pickups, both diesel and gas. We also have a GMC 2500 series we use regularily. Now that several of us have driven and rode in our new Cybertruck, "Bender" there is one overriding subjective judgement.

Comparing pickups regardless of there use or utility to this truck are like putting beer cans next to a quarter barrel. I've seen most of the reviews positive and negative. I'd suggest that whether the reviewer made his living by using their mind through their hands like Sandy Munro or with their mouth like Marques Brownlee would be a good way to weigh their value.

That's a good point. I'd be curious your thoughts for sure!

If you are plowing snow, driving off road in really challenging terrain frequently, hauling a heavy trailer long distances, making content for clicks or other special use cases, then a conventional pickup still makes sense. Ford surveyed pickup owners and found over 80-85% rarely or ever do these things. Like me and my employees, we use trucks for transportation, going to Home Depot, helping the daughter move away from an abusive boyfriend, bringing a big screen tv from Best Buy home temporarily before it ends up in a landfill, going to the garden center, etc. then a Cybertruck is pretty great. It's quiet, no rattles, awesome stereo and drives like a car.

Not sure I get the analogy.

My apology. I was wrong to post this without background or proper contextual explanation. I've spent my life designing products (industrial designer), studying and living within the human-machine interface (Commercial pilot with many thousands of flight hours), working with my hands (automotive and aircraft repair and maintenance) and various other quixotic pursuits. To myself and the highly skilled mechanics I get to work with and learn from on a daily basis elegant design and intrinsic value are easy to discern. I don't mean to denigrate the "shine" folks, "panel gap detectives" and conventional thinkers. There's room for everyone's opinions and preferences. After all, as someone above said, "It's a lifestyle vehicle". Thanks for your question.

I mean, in your first post you compared a conventional truck to an aluminum can, and the CT to a quarter barrel. So I'm presuming you mean the CT is many times more than a truck. So good review I suppose. ?

Ford surveyed Lighting buyers and found they did more "truck" things with theirs than most ICE F150 owners. As you point out, the CT is a useful truck as long as you don't need range or tow heavy trailers. Not sure what it would do snow plowing, assuming you could actually install the blade. With the right tires and some further tuning, it looks like it would do reasonably well off road.

Yes, With high ground clearance and 4 wheel steering by wire it would be a really maneuverable plow truck If the engineering could be worked out.
