Agree!

Numbers, numbers please.

Range drop by 60%?

Range drop on uphill like Donner or Tioga Pass?

And range when towing in sub zero?
That will always depend on the aero of your trailer, how much heat you use, how much pre-heating you do, etc.

You? Probably drop by half, yeah.

I'm sorry but I have to call this bullsh..t. Anyone who's usually towing loads can straight up tell you that's an empty trailer. The audacity to insult people intelligence is blood boiling, talking about the individual here, not about Tesla.
How can you tell that?

Try finding those numbers for any big three truck.
Range drop towing a big trailer? No info any of them, but we feel fine demanding that from an unreleased truck?
Silverado towing a 3500lb trailer dropped from normal 23mpg to <12mpg so I assume EVs do the same. My 1500HD went from 13mpg to 6.
Don‘t understand why people expect EVs to somehow defy physics when existing trucks already behave that way.
[edit]
adding info from PepsiCo on Semi.
They reported that the descent from the Donner Pass regenerated more than they expected and made a huge difference to overall range

The range drop for F150 Lightning with trailer and winter driving for me was a deal breaking for not making good of turning my reservation into order.

I am familiar with it's physics. I was hoping Tesla is better with it's battery tech as shown in it's semi.

Regen is what makes it useful, but all trucks lose massive percentages in range when towing loads and it drops with even small loads.
I was just trying to highlight that none of the truck manufacturers dare print how bad it gets.

The tape on the rear quarter panel looks to be for strategically located strain gauges. The “exoskeleton” is a stressed member and they are doing system level verification Under towing loads.

I’m sure there are test points that will have that trailer at, or over, the max tow capacity.

It isn't so much battery tech, as it is cramming 850kw into the semi. The semi is literally only made for towing, i dont think they've released it's bare range. Tesla does have a hell of an efficient drive train though.. And i too am hoping the CT has a variant with enough range for towing in harsh environments..

Was just arguing with my dad about the tow capacity. Looks like a 30ft heavy duty car hauler. Maybe someone here will know the model and specs. Awesome to see a real load on it!

Looks like maybe some type of sensor or maybe additional camera wiring taped alongside and to the back.

That trailer from ATC weights 3,950 pounds and has a payload of 9,250 for a GVWR of 13,500 pounds. With the claimed towing capacity of 14,000 lbs, this would be a good test.
Using a WDH, so its heavy
