One more question….does the existing tailgate cap just snap off at the top ? Saw your video and didn’t see.
This first, longer video demonstrates removing the plastic Tesla tailgate cap…

Got mine yesterday. Fantastic packaging, and fitment is really good considering the slight variation on these trucks (See tailgate dividers for reference). Will post pictures soon.

If anyone is on the fence. The tailgate cover alone is A+. Solid, not a bit of movement. Looks OEM. The edge and bolts on the inside recess slightly so you aren't going to hang anything when you slide it out.

@Lowcoem, you were correct. I should have ordered the roof section. Did that today.
Let’s see those pictures!!!!

Here I guess.. I touched base with Jasper and he assured me all ordered pieces are fabricated and finished and should have a UPS label Monday, Keep the faith, If it were me I wouldn’t start getting worked up until Tuesday…. I’m here to calm your nerves and assure you that Jasper has much to loose if he drops the ball…… Listen to the first batch of happy customers.. well worth the small wait….

Woohoo. got my cap today! packing was serious overkill. an indestructible tailgate cap packed like a neon tube. fit is perfect. i think it took me longer to unpack than to install. You need a T30 wrench to remove the stock bolts and an M4 hex to install the new ones. You also need a Phillips and a razor knife to unpack. I can't wait to see this in parking lots instead of my driveway.

I've asked multiple times for someone to step up and produce a replacement tailgate cap and sail panel covers in stainless. As far as I know, no one has stepped up. As a result I've commissioned a scrappy young lad who works at a commercial metal fab shop with creating such a product. I'll keep you posted on the progress. As of now he has my plastic pieces and is in the process of prototyping.... Curious as to what people think such a 3 piece product price point would be fair... American made...

I love the entrepreneurial spirit, especially for such a useful and durable alternative to OEM parts. Good luck to you and your scrapper. Not knowing the cost of SS, I would think a reasonable price is $500 sans material costs.

Did you get the upper sail panels? Any pictures?
