My Cyberbeast has just under 16k miles, 18 months old and this is what my Pirelli Scorpions look like on the front. The rear aren’t this bad but maybe a few more months left on them. I drive mostly city driving, have only launched it a handful of times, since we have no great launching spots in the mountains, and 80% of my driving is on FSD.

A new set of Michelin Defender LTX have been ordered at just over $2400 for a set (cost installed). That is some expensive maintenance at 18 months old!

Our old MYP also went through Pirelli in just 20k miles. Why does Tesla put these terrible tires on the cars from the factory??

I got 40k outta my Goodyear AT. When I first got the truck I refused to rotate to see the ware pattern, fronts lasted 20k and looked like yours into the warebars then rotated and went another 18k or so before replacing the whole set. CB pulls from the front mostly even on FSD it pulls aggressively I notice it more so on dirt roads but even pavement I can see extra ware there. I lived in beast mode for the first set with many many launches. Overall happy with Goodyears aside of cost 2200 at Tesla. on the 3rd set now at 75k miles. Now I mostly in standard / chill mode unless I wanna show off to new folks riding with me.

My M3P stayed in sport mode and only got 25k outta those.

Tapped out at 15.7k miles myself, AWD.

Then I gave Pirelli another chance and got their XTM AT tire, hope I don’t regret it. Pretty annoyed the low mileage from the core Pirelli’s

13k here for two sets, now on Platinum LTX but range takes a 17% hit due to increased tire weight.

My theory is that EV’s, especially heavy ones with aggressive regen are extra hard on tires because there is no coasting, only acceleration and deceleration. Only when steady throttle can the tires actually relax.

I have a Beast with 16,500 miles and my Core tires are still in good shape. Most of my miles are highway miles between northeastern South Carolina and San Antonio. I estimate that I've got at least another 10k in them.

Mine went to 18,000. But had the same wear pattern in front. I got an alignment as soon as I put the new ones on. I did the same tires and I’m curious to see if I get further. I’m also trying to do my rotations on time. I didn’t rotate the first set.

Are those the LTX Platinum? If so, you mentioned Cyberbeast, so be aware they have a top speed of 112 MPH.

Tire manufacturers have special SKUs for dealerships and they most often have dramatically lower tread life. All to pinch pennies, of course.

Hmmm, I am guessing then that you have less turning happening where I am in the mountains so a lot of turning the wheels back and forth just in normal driving everywhere I go.

I mean personally I’ve never in 30+ years of driving gotten close to 110 mph, so…

I maxed out today at 114 mph on my OEM pirellis in the express lane behind two bmws. I held it there for almost two minutes before they both pulled away at over 120mph. The express lane was empty at midday.

My explorer ST has gotten to 135 before I leaked urine in my trousers.
