Sure. But the size of CCS is still a bit over-sold in my opinion. Home CCS is small. When I finally used a fast charger CCS it was obviously bigger, but nowhere near the behemoth I'd been lead to expect. Is US CCS different?
CCS is DC Fast charging. The AC port is not CCS.

No one has ever claimed the J1772 or Menekes is oversized. The J-plug also has the problem that the latch is on the plug and that's a weak point. It means it takes 2-10x more wear than the one on the car.

That's it.

That's what happens when everyone gets a ribbon just for participating, even when they have failed the task.
Hey! I got one of those ribbons!!!! The task was hard to fail; you just had to be alive. You're probably just jealous..... ;)

I agree but where should it be?
many constraints with current superchargers:
six and 1/2 foot cable
connection is on the right

maybe it could have been on the bed rail top but the tonneau cover moves there

Also very challenging surface to work with
Ultra-Hard 301 Cold-Rolled stainless-steel
for penetrations meaning a charging door

btw Lightning

I’m sure the jungle boys will have after market adaptations if you get to that level of off-road. No concern.

Is anyone else law beside me worried about the placement of the charging port? There are any number of items that could snag the edge and break the door. It faces the front like a suicide door and I think it may be a problem for those of us who use their truck off-road situations. The tire edge is just wider than the wheel fenders so it’s likely to push things into the edge of the fender lip.
- Any mud may eventually push into the port.
- Branches could snag the edge.
- water will accumulate while driving and a freeze will glue it shut.

I’ve never had a problem with my wife’s Model Y. But it’s higher. Not a suicide door style. And won’t pick up debris from the tire.

Is this an issue we will all be happily complaining about in a year?

I think it’d be a rare failure rate; just as another body panel break rate when off roading.
And of course, when off roading - the owner carries responsibility of any vehicle damage.
By the time the general public starts taking the CT off roading (when the resale value is under $40k), enough aftermarket vendors will be able to provide you with parts to not be a large financial burden within reason of the normal off roading hobbyists costs.

I'd love for Australia to switch to the NACS connector.
But the death knell for that was putting the words "North American" in it.
Australians have an immune reaction to anything even vaguely perceived as American.

For NACS to succeed here you would have to rename it:
"Neds Kellys All Aussie Electricity Snake."

Optimus promises to be careful with his recharging port on your Cybertruck.

I read this post with the Crocodile Dundee narrative and it felt legit.

NACS = Non-American Charging Standard.

When I go to Outback Steak House, I only order the American food
I might be going out on a limb here, but don't they charge an arm and a leg?
