Me too. I always hold the nozzle at arm's length, and let it drip dry. I also find that the recycled electrons that Tesla uses are smelly and kind of off color. I don't like it. I'd think for 35 cents a kilowatt, they could give us brand new electrons.

Hoses are easier to wind up, and they are filled with a relatively light fluid, compared to the coolant in Supercharger cables, let alone the 'cable' part.

Which means they can be longer, held in a reel, suspended, etc; more easily than Supercharger cables.

The longer the cables are, the fewer amps can be sent through them because of internal resistance and cooling issues.

I looked up how many fuel stations in AU, and I got varied results from 4000 to 9000.

It is convenient to have them opposite each other, and convenient to have one on our regular path. But push comes to shove, considering people can also charge at home, I wonder how many charging stations we would need to get by effectively with a little inconvenience.

Maybe not as many as we think?. Perhaps just tripling the current network could satisfy 99% of the time, including the odd one taking up 2 spots.

Locations or chargers? For a DC site, it takes about 6-15 times the time to 'fill up. But locations counted would also include AC spots...

...And really, there's three spots for every car on the road. So the potential number of AC plug in spots is way more than the number of cars.

ok i think you might be over exagerating a bit... a supercharger can charge a model Y from under 20% to over 80 in 15 minutes... you can fill your car up in ONE minute.. dude that is amazing.. i can't even get STARTED fueling in one minute.. to many do you have bonus bucks.. do you want bonus bucks types of questions.

It’s exactly the business model challenge.

Facilitating long travel charge stations is critical, esp in remote locations.

But “home” charging means stations are rarely used (relatively speaking).

I've tried to get my head around how many gas stations there would be if everyone with a gas car had a bio-gasoline generating still in their garage that had the ability to produce about a gallon of gasoline every hour. If you could fill your car with gas at home overnight, I'm guessing there would be fewer than 10% of the number of gas stations.

So, one sixth of fifteen is over two minutes, and filling three quarters of a less than ten gallon tank (like on a small Hybrid) in that time...

So no, you're actively misreading what I said to make a straw argument.
