I have my Cyber beast in Phoenix and I charge at home and when I am traveling charging is never an issue.
I am planning to ship it to my home in Rochester for the summer, I enjoy it so much that I am willing to ship it there.
The closest Super Charger is about 40 miles away, there is not any super chargers in Rochester NY. This is insane in this day and age, how archaic is this.
I did not want to setup a charger at the house because it is only for a short time.
New York State is not very friendly to Tesla, even to buy a vehicle , I would have to travel 100 miles to a Indian Casino or travel to MT Cisco NY to take delivery.
Tesla can solve problems that no other company's can achieve, but their NY network sucks!

Have you tried Ford or GM's New York charging network?

I’ve had a lot of luck using the Electrify America App, for times I’ve been unable to find a supercharger. A lot of them are 350 kW as well. Good luck.

If you have a nema 14-50 adaptor and a dryer outlet you can still get some decent charging at home.

It is pretty obvious that these mid-sized cites should definitely have at least SOME Supercharger coverage. We had a similar situation visiting our daughter in Schenectady NY (at least there was some V2 Supercharging, but figure half the already paltry rate because at least half the stalls were always full) so I got the adapter and found a close-by 350kW charger, possibly EA. (Since then, a new V4 opened reasonably close by, only a few minutes off of our route.)

I live in Rochester and agree, the Supercharger coverage is pathetic and the state's rules are archaic. We've made the forced 10 hour round trip drive to Mt. Kisco many times, and the "new and improved" option to buy at Turning Stone is sketchy because you have to buy the vehicle sight unseen, which is a huge risk with Tesla.

The lack of Superchargers is especially egregious when considering we have an absolute ton of Tesla vehicles, as well as a relatively huge service center.

I second getting an CCS1 adaptor. https://shop.tesla.com/product/ccs1-to-nacs-adapter?web=true

Look around on Plugshare. Here in town I initially charged my Model Y at a -Chargerpoint+ site that only charges 18 cents a kWh, 2X current residential rate, instead of going to a Supercharger 30 minutes drive away by highway. My local city, which owns and operates the local power company, has both a couple DCFC chargers (140/70 KW) and a bunch of 6 kW Level 2 chargers. The city's level 2 chargers are all at 12 cents per kWh. One pair is a 3 block walk from my house. Billing for the city owned chargers is handled by Chargepoint. Tesla installed a Magic Dock Supercharger less than a block away from the city's DCFC site.

Once my portable EVSE came, and the 6-50 adapter for it came, I was able to plug it into the 6-50 outlet in the garage that was put in for a welder. The 6-50 adapter came many weeks before the portable EVSE came. There was a shortage of them when I bought my Model Y. Your garage might have 20 Amp 120VAC outlets. If you get the 5-20 adapter for the portable evse you can charge a small bit faster. Look around to see what outlets you have in the garage. My garage has a few 6-20 20Amp 220VAC outlets. I suspect they were for shop tools the previous owner had. You can compare the outlets shown on the adapter shop[ page to identify them.
