I'm part of this gang as well, the compressor noise along with interior rattles and motor noise is driving me up the wall.

@Fausto did you ever take it apart to see what is making the noise? Did you find a solution? I never hear the compressor in our Model S. In the Cybertruck I hear it and it seems to me like it's either hitting another panel and transferring noise or that the isolators are not installed correctly and letting the noise of the pump transfer into the cabin.
Hey, sorry I haven't got around to it yet. I got the spare wheel installed and have pretty much left the truck in low dynamics to prevent excessive compressor usage for the meantime.

I must say that the spare wheel does mute the compressor a bit. Perhaps with the range extender you won't hear it at all! ?

But I still intend on opening it up at some point and will take some pictures

I was noticing the same problem with my rear air compressor vibrating loudly. I just got my FS CB back from the SC and this is what they found. Notes from SC below.

Concern: Customer states: hears a vibrating noise from air compressor when coming to a stop and
when first start.

Repair Notes: Found the noise is coming from the air suspension compressor carrier bracket
making contact with the vehicle body. Attempted to adjust the carrier but fout it would still contact the
body. A new carrier is required. parts are currently not in stk. Please order the compressor carrier for
next service 1250912-00-F for now i added rubber tape to the contact area until the new carrier
arrives.

I mentioned the noise to the service tech last time I was in for the recalls. He said it was normal and not to worry. Not sure what normal is ? Seems to only happen in the first 10 minutes of driving then no more randomly going on sounds.

It’s not normal as I undoubtedly discovered myself.
Mine as from my original post, has been making this noise to just recently since back in Nov 2024 with increasingly louder and louder operation & for longer periods of time as well.

When I say recently, it’s because now I have a permanent error code TAS_a218.
under service menu there is also an error TAS_a220_exhaustGalleryFault.

The a220 error will indicate the the TAS (Tesla Air Suspension) is in limp mode and will be disabled til service, which I now have scheduled for June 9th 2025.

Something to also be aware of is that this issue began back in late fall - winter months but as temperatures remained cold, the noise and cadence of the issue was essentially random.
As the temperatures started rising from spring on, the noise grew worse from random to all of the time while driving the truck, to the point the other day on a 90°F day in PA and very muggy from rain, threw up those 2 errors upon entering my truck for a drive.
Contacting support via the app and phone and support recognized the issue and set an appointment.

Will update again after service appointment.
Service said in estimate of $0 that the service would be between 1-5pm same day with a loaner, however I have 2 other items I have them looking at while there.

I've noticed in the Service Guide a procedure for replacing the Air Compressor Exhaust Assembly, which the EPC refers to as a "muffler".

It seems to be loosely fitted, so it's a possible source of noise if detached or defective.

Although it may fix an exhaust gallery error, it certainly is not the source of the Very loud banging/rattling noise that the compressor makes while it’s operating for many minutes at a time.

see attached video of loudness just sitting in my driveway and it gets louder as you drive around: it’s embarrassing, for what should an otherwise silent function as in our model S & X plaid.

Other owners have indicated that service found it to be the mounting bracket that the compressor sits & instead of the rubber grommets absorbing that vibration, the metal hits the bed frame making it sound like a rata-tat-tat-tat-tat constantly until minutes later a loud burst of compressed air then pure silence again. The longer the issue goes the louder it gets to a degree, I’ve been tracking the issue for months trying to get to the bottom of it.
