Keeping with the Douglas Adams theme, I'd say that in September the date would be September 10, 2023. I see that it is a Monday but hey, what better way to start a week than to get all the deets on the CT.
Oh c’mon we can do better than this.

September 6th.

Pretty soon they'll be popping out 500-1000 of those ugly shiny critters everyday.
About 18 months away from my delivery, I reckon.
The entire auto industry is about to change biggly.
VW is already dead in Germany.
Ford bankruptcy is very close.

The mainstream media is already and has from day 1 been super critical of the Cybertruck.

They will eviscerate the Cybertruck regardless of whether it is amazing or not. Mainstream Media persisted in suggesting the Bolt was as good as the Model 3 for years after launch even though it was clearly the inferior product.

Assuming pricing isn’t too crazy, Tesla has over 2 years of orders on the books to change that narrative. Getting 250k trucks on the road will change the narrative regardless of what MSM wants to chime in about the Cybertruck.

When I bought the Model Y MSM was in love with the Mach E. It was more affordable and “tESlas HavE PAneL GAps”. MSM’s opinions had zero effect long term on the Model Y/ Mach E. They will similarly have zero effect on the Cybertruck.
I don't give a darn if those people don't like the CT. To me it's nice but I cannot be excited now because my turn might be by the end of 2025.

Well deserved props for Cybertruck’s #1 fan.

Big hint there are some deets dropping on the call. I’m betting we get the launch party date.
FYI This was the ONLY Cybertruck tweet he interacted with today yall. Quite an honor. Have a great night everyone.

Wednesday about to be nutty. 😬

It’s not a question of how much range Tesla can stuff into each truck. It’s. Question of how many trucks can they get out the door.

If shipping the 500 mile truck will slow down deliveries, it makes more sense for them to ship the 350 mile range trucks. Teslas goal is volume first and foremost. Shipping 3 350 mile trucks is likely to be more profitable and obviously more volume than shipping 2 500 mile range trucks.

Tesla can and will ship 500 mile range trucks. Likely within the first year as 4680 volume picks up. It’s just a question of whether they are the first trucks out the door or not.
So you're thinking that the initial deliveries will be of dual motor at 350-mile range? Or will it be tri-motor?

I’ve said for some time that I think initial configuration is 100% dependent on battery supply.

Lots of 4680s: Tri/ quad is first.
Few 4680s: Dual is first

Someone above posted that “A reliable source” suggested 350 miles was likely first. I’ve heard this previously. Not my prediction, but seems quite plausible to me since from the sounds of it 4680 supply is still ramping up.

As (I think) you've said before the cost for capability will be key. Some people will be able and willing to spend huge money for rarely used gains (plaid) and that's great. The CT will offer those edge case scenarios but its success will be determined by being a jack-of-all-trades at a competitive price, like the Model Y. I want a better than F150 lightning experience at about the same, hopefully lower price. Range is important to that experience but far from the only metric. Most people don't need over 350 miles of range every day. For most people, more than 350 miles range means they're lugging around batteries that won't be used..
