Got it installed, FINALLY!
Service sold me the mounting parts ($200) and charged m3 ($250) to drill the holes and install the two Rivnuts. Then I mounted it all and success! Overall, all in, $1600, which isn’t bad considered a replacement and install from the Service I’ve seen quoted to $2500.

Clean the windshield and lightbar with isopropyl alcohol, apply the adhesive promoter, apply 2 sided tape to lightbar, install lightbar on the windshield, screw brackets to the lightbar and then screw it to the frame of the truck roof, connect the plug to the cable behind the passenger B-pillar. It’s all laid out in the instructions from Tesla posted earlier. Took me an hour.

Welp…my SC now wants proof of purchase *from Tesla* before they’ll install (I never mentioned that I got it from eBay)

If they won’t budge, I’ll see if they’re willing to install the rivnuts at least, haha!!

ETA: I don’t mind if I’m the one sticking this thing down. I know I’ll go overboard making sure the windshield is clean, adhesive promoter is applied correctly, the lightbar is straight and centered, etc.

Yeah I mean I get the liability issue which is why they won’t install it or that’s what they told me anyways.
Honestly the install once the Rivnuts are drilled and installed was super easy. With a second person it would be even easy just put it in Entry mode and get a ladder or step stool on each side. With the brackets on each end it’s impossible to not get it on straight.

Yes, a few.

I haven’t replied back yet. I like my SC and would like them to do the work. It’s not hard to drill holes and install rivnuts, I just don’t feel like doing it, haha!!

I have a V3 lightbar new in box and with the retrofit method posted by Tesla was preparing to do the entire install myself. I felt confident I could do it but buying every tool and material for install ended up about $250. I saw this thread and some service centers installing lightbars and tried my local service center. They agreed but quoted me a little more, $499 for the install, that includes no parts as I currently even have the bracket, rivnuts, etc I already purchased from them. Overall I think it’s not worth the headache for me to do it myself, while my service center does have a history of fixing one thing and breaking another at least they are liable it the thing flies off or something goes wrong during the install. I am scheduled for the 11th but told them if something opens up I’ll take it. I’ll update after the install. For the record my CT is not a Beast.

With the headache of an install I think this will never be available for purchase and install as an accessory. I expect they will install the ones that are due and then we will probably never see it again so I figured I better jump on it now.
