She the Director of the S&P stated:

Tesla carbon footprint was good and now is bad
Tesla workers were happy and now are not happy campers
Tesla was fair to all workers and is now mistreating all its workers"
Lest Face It
Tesla no matter what they do S&P SEC NTSB will never admit they are wrong.

This cannot be changed and there is no legal way to stop her from delisting Tesla. Delisting forces 1000s of investment funds to sell Tesla shares
So
Will Tesla stock dip when retirement investment funds are forced to sell Tesla shares?

The director of S&P is she involved with the shorting of Tesla stock?

I was at the supermarket once looking for some dish soap. A mother and her teenage daughter whiz by to grab a bottle in a hurry. The daughter says grab the one that's good for the environment! In my ignorance I asked, "it's soap! How can it be good for the environment?" Startled, and obviously in a hurry, they scurried away quickly afraid to confront me.

I may have sounded flippant, but it was an honest question really. I've grown so suspicious of marketing campaigns that I immediately suspect a product is the opposite of what it says. Like in my head, red flags come up and say why does this fancy label/advertisement/salesman have to say this overtly when the product performance can speak for itself.

You have violated the strict rules on this site for not mentioning Cybertruck in your comment. Your reservation has been adjusted back to the euro zone.

I don’t think this is thousands of funds. It is certainly does not have the impact getting delisted from the S&P 500 proper would. There are some funds which use this index, but not tons of them and there isn’t a massive amount of money in them

It’s not a great deal here either, but in 6 months won’t matter and when they get back in it won’t be a big deal either.

There are soaps that are less bad for the environment, and some that are pseudo-neutral for the environment, so perhaps her age or just her use of words (or your interpretation of her words) came across. I understand and laud any effort to reduce our [negative] impact on the environment, and if there is a stock exchange that is actually focused on that in terms of scoring every company that it lists in that regard, then great. But I would want to see the metrics published along with the scores, and I would want there to be a forum where the scores, or the data used to arrive at them, can be challenged. As @Crissa mentioned, green-washing is in full force in our economy.

Let's all hope that in the grand[er] scheme of things Tesla continues to grow and implement its vision for sustainability and that that positively affects the stock price (since, selfishly, that is how I hope to pay for my truck). Otherwise why would anyone invest in the market? You never know when Wall Street will decide to hammer a company because they don't like the CEO. Hell, I don't like Elon either but I do like Tesla (apart from some criticisms about FSD that I have paid for twice and almost three times now).

Unfortunately, Elon has gone full right-wing troll over this and is throwing punches at nonexistent targets.

PS, social justice means 'we should treat other people with respect'. Blaming the S&P's greenwashing on social justice is like blaming children for child abuse.

If that's all it was, it wouldn't be problem. It has come to be that SJWs are those who have a wishlist, and anyone not willing to hand it to them prepaid by others, is their enemy.

This is more of a Wall Street thing.

Exxon Mobile is in the index. Lots of other companies associated with big oil.

Same kind of con, different players; corporate or marxist, if they're trying for power and money at other's expense, they're dishonest, to put it mildly.

Side note: they've already started scoring individuals on ESG. Like a personal credit score, it is tracked by a third party without your consent. The idea is to track your behavior (spending habits, how often you travel, eating out, etc.) and eventually restrict your access to services if your score is too low. I'm not making this up, do a quick search you'll find articles about it.

I remain skeptical.

Yes
Retirement funds Like Boeing or FedEx or ATT and 1000s of retirement funds cannot buy outside of S&P or Dow. Most are forced not to invest in only S&P stocks,
Now
Delisting triggers investment funds to get out. It is just a requirement of lots and lots of Retirment investment funds.
Ok
Will that effect Tesla stock price?
Tesla is not being removed from the S&P 500 ESG, it is being removed from the “ESG” fund which is a separate index which is supposed to be limited to environmentally conscious companies (such as Exxon :ROFLMAO: ).

The number of funds which are based on the S&P 500 ESG is much much smaller than the ones pinned to the S&P 500.
