lol, negative, Tesla is not selling info to scam vehicle warranty companies.

Likely a combo of public data, data brokers, browser history, cookies, apps or data on your smartphone, who knows..

Your username exists on this forum, probably exists on other forums or websites tied to your name and location. It's fairly simple to associate these things and find a home address.

Received a flyer in the mail for the extended warranty on a 2024 Tesla cyber truck. I have not even received a VIN yet. So I guess Tesla is selling our info? I’m mean how else could they have gotten my info.

Insurance companies also have your information shared equally among nearly all of them. When I switched insurance companies last year, I just put in my driver's license number and state, and voila the new company already had my house details, vehicles and each VIN, with a menu just to allow me what to pick and choose for coverage. These asset details were never provided to that new company by me at all.

It wouldn't be far fetched to think some of your data leaked that way. I started getting similar 'warranty expired' and similar mailings for my vehicle over ten years ago (way before I owned any Tesla). I would trust Tesla with my information much more than most other established companies.

I would also check the privacy policy of your state's DMV or where ever you registered it, and find out if their data is accessible by others as well.

Interesting ?. I’d contact them because you’d be at risk for financial liability for the cost of repairs to the truck you don’t have yet. ??‍♂

Crazy.

Look for other sources. This is obviously a spammer, and they will put information together from multiple places.

This has to be it! I did request a quote. Thanks!

Sure thing! Yea, insurance companies will harvest a lot of info and sell it off. No telling if that was in fact where these people got your info, but it is a good chance.

If you do a dark web scan (ie- through credit karma, etc), you may be able to track it down and identify who it came from.

Good luck!
